In the first album Nicole, Melody and Carmín sang, then all the girls asked to be featured more so in the second album Nicole was 1st voice, Melody 2nd and Jessica 3rd while the others sang backup and they all had solos in the re release album.

I've often wondered why Nicole's solo career never took off. She's a talented vocalist and dancer - she's drop dead gorgeous, she looks very different from her competition, and she clearly had the industry well on her side... and I just feel like it's because she really lacks outward personality. I feel like she's one of those people that has just been winning pageants and talent shows her whole life and she has no sense of self other than that she's a winner. Which is really boring to watch. There's no rawness to her, she's impossible to relate to.

Well she wrote all their material, not one of them helped out, not one of them tried to step out in front. The Label chose Nicole because she was the attractive one. And its her voice that sold the music. When you have one person doing all the writing and all the singing, you can see why the label chose her to be enter stage.

Plenty of people sing songs they did not write. I get the feeling PCD fans would have helped out her solo career had she not appear selfish to the fans. I enjoyed their videos but it screams so "me! me! me! me!".

yeah, I never got why she didn't make it as a solo artist bc she was literally 99% of the Pussycat Doll (not to be rude to the other members but they really were treated as backup dancers and it took me years to find out that the other ppl in their music videos weren't just extras) I think all she's missing is that one hit song bc most ppl just haven't been that drawn into her music I still loved Try With Me and Don't Hold Your Breath tho

It seems that labels don't realize that for a group to last, you can't push one member farther out than the other members, while making the other members feel insignificant. If you do that then problems *WILL* come. Look at 5th harmony, the label kept pushing camila cabello as the lead singer and look at where 5h are now.

Had Nicole shared the spotlight with the other girls, I get the feeling that people will like her more and support her in her solo prospects. In Kpop, if a member gets all the lines and spotlight, people tend to hate that member more because it looks selfish (the distribution may not even be that member's fault to begin with).

Growing up and I loved The Pussycat Dolls, I would blast the shit out of their songs. One funny memory I have about PCD is the fact that I couldn't never say their group name in school. So when ever someone asked me what my favorite group was at the time I say, "The Cat Dolls", the girls that sing "When I Grow Up!" Then the kids would yell at me for saying a "bad word" and I was like "BUT THAT'S THE NAME!!" _For context, I was in elementary school during the time TPD was popular._

A couple of the other Dolls had their own singles which were pretty decent - Jessica Sutta "Show Me" was pretty good :) And it's funny/ironic how when Nicole was with the PCD, she got all the hype and attention, yet her SOLO career never really got off the ground. She had a few good songs, but she was never as big as PCD when she was on her own...

It's sad when you think that the other Dolls did have talent, being able to sing and dance yet Nicole was the one given ALL the publicity and vocals. It's sad because the group was so unique with their burlesque style and dance, if the solos were more divided just as in Little Mix, they probably wouldn't have had as much problems as they did.

It's simple, if you don't write your own songs, it's upon luck and your hardwork to stay relevant for long. There would be things that would turn the tables, label dropping you, taking away the resources, leave you alone. But If you write your own songs, you'll release music as long as you're able to record and publish. Maybe not able to market and release it on a big scale, but would not fade away and would keep making music, and career would most likely never end unless it's your own choice or you're not able to.

The other members sang backing vocals in some songs which is why they have mics in live performances. One example is when they performed buttons at fashion rocks and Nicole looked angry when Melody starting to sing louder than her. Also at least they each got their own solo song in their last album.

i still think the high point for nicole musically was on the 1999 days of the new album she collaborated on. I didn’t know about it until recently but wow is it a strange mix of 90s grunge vibes and 00s nostalgia

the pussycat dolls were really just nicole and her backup singers as sad as it is, they were props to her career which is why nobody knows anyone but nicole
