@@karmabutterfly7985 I think I read somewhere, back when PCD was said to have a comeback, that Melody had a career on Broadway and didn't feel coming back to be a dancer would be a step up. I've heard things from Melody & especially since Kimberley Wyatt did that interview & aired out bts. I loved the pcd when they came out with their 1st 2 albums but hearing what I've heard, I don't know why they'd want to come back anyway if majority of the stuff was horrible to deal with. Their performances after the x-factor weren't very good either.

still think it’s messed up how melody signed with the group with the promise of being a singer but ended up playing the role of a backup dancer-and she was the ONLY ONE without a professional dance background, hence her visible struggle with choreography in many of the performances (she wasn’t even in the dance break in the Buttons mv 😭). i cant imagine signing up for a gig as a singer, only to go out on stage as a dancer...

Long story short. Melody, Nicole and Carmit (as well as Kaya Jones) were signed as the vocalists of the group. Robin tried to push Melody as the lead singer (and their first performance had Melody as the lead) but the record company pushed Nicole (Nicole had her own team from prior recording contracts who found their way to managing the rest of the girls). I think there was also a time in between that first performance of Big Spender and the Buttons performance from 2004 that Nicole, Melody and Carmit were going to do a bit more sharing (there was a performance of Fever with the three having completely equal vocals). Melody being in the group is proof that Nicole was not originally the lead singer, and there were no intentions.

Melody has a lot of challenges vocally. She’s very pitchy, low resonance. Idk if that’s the consequence of not using her instrument for so long, or if it was never there.

I’m really tired of companies and industries taking advantage of people and outright abusive. I don’t understand why they think putting co worker against each other is a good thing? Wouldn’t it be better to provide a positive environment and nurture their relationships in a positive way so that they’re bonds are more genuine and not an act??? I’m sure that would also make the singers and dancers less stressful too overall. 😔

The Pussycat Dolls’ music could be described as “stripper pop”. It’s the songs that the group could do the sexy routines. Nicole’s singles were just normal pop (and some of it extremely dated and in some cases just awful). Nicole’s most successful single was (I think) Right There, which is the closest thing to a Pussycat Dolls song. That’s the reason why songs like Don’t Cha, Buttons, Beep were bigger than Hush Hush, I Hate This Part, Stickwitu. It’s funny though because most of Nicole’s pre-2011 solo stuff was recorded at the same sessions as the PCD albums, but then I guess there was a reason she was allowed to put songs like Baby Love on her own and not Wait A Minute

Nicole has always wanted the Destiny's Child formula to work for her, but unfortunately she is just too narcissistic and self-centered for PCD to succeed at this point. She's so afraid of the public seeing the other girls as capable that she sabotaged the group in the process.

I remember watching her on DWTS and I wasn't fan, per say but I had no reason to dislike her. But almost every clip of her on the show was a sob story about that tried to make it seem like she was an underdog you should root for. After seeing her in other shows and interviews, I was just over her "I'm an underdog and I made it" bs. She comes off as self centered and needy to me.

Honestly I knew it would've fallen apart because in this day and age the 1 woman show in groups does not work. Fans want to hear their individual favorite members, they want to see each girl shine at some point. Although Nicole has a beautiful voice, we as a fanbase were not here ONLY for her. Beep was one of my favorite songs because the other girls had parts. I don't know why she or Robin don't understand that Nicole isn't strong enough solo so she should lean more on the girls. It's what the fans want, we want to see them as a GROUP doing it.

I feel that Nicolle’s solo career never took off also because of the audience’s perception of her. She was kinda already doing a solo with glorified background girls. When I found that out when I was young made me unlike her a bit. They should’ve done a balanced act from the beginning. :/

I've been so upset over this mess! My boyfriend bought me tickets to see them for my birthday back in April 2020 ofcourse the pandemic happened and it was rescheduled but as time went on I could tell there was drama going on and they simply couldn't keep it together for us fans! I'm so fed up of this nonsense. I invested so much of my energy and time into the comeback because I've never been able to see any of my favourite artists perform on stage and this group really meant the world to me. It's just been a huge disappointment.

It’s 2022 and Michelle‘s lines in all the Destiny’s Child songs are the most iconic. It’s my personal opinion that in almost every Destiny’s Child song Michelle‘s lines have the most impact and they have wistood the test of time better than some of the whole songs.

I liked that you’re one of the first people I’ve seen discuss this that included Robin as part of the blame. I honestly feel like it all her. All of the girls have alluded to bad things about her. If Nicole is fighting for control, that means she doesn’t have it. Robin is to blame for the set up of the group. It’s commonly joked that “Nicole doesn’t let the girls sing or shine” but Nicole isn’t in charge. I don’t think anything will ever be just right until the other Dolls demand respect. To see that Robin would be getting more money from the tour than the actual band members is a red flag to me. You can’t just put dancers behind Nicole and have the same effect. Those girls all bring something special to the mix. Until they demand to be treated as members and not just dancers nothing is going to change sadly. I love PCD so much and just wanted to see them out there killing it. Maybe one day we will. 💔

Why does Nicole needs ownership when it wasn't her group to begin with? She sounds greedy. And if the other girls are smart, they'll move on.

She kinda helped made the songs she even has writing credits in “Buttons” and she sang %95 of the albums so I think that’s why she wants to own everything for herself? Honestly I have no clue tho she wasn’t the only one singing on the albums tho on the first album only carmit & melody had vocals, and in the second album they were all mostly just background singers so yeah honestly it’s just messed up
@criminalmindsgirl29362 жыл бұрын
@@crystal-chan6239, it really is. But to me, just because she writes some of the songs and have lead vocals. Doesn't mean she should take ownership. She didn't create PCD. Nicole can receive music royalties from her singing and songwriting credits. But to take full control of a group that she didn't create? That sounds greedy. I mean, what about the other girls? It sucks.

@@criminalmindsgirl2936 Girl. She didn't want to have the group. she only wants to have a decision making for the group and creative control.. It is so unfair that Nicole receive all the hate. but robin get away from it. Did Robin already returned the money she took from LiveNation? she used Nicole's name to have received money from LiveNation. did returned the Nicole's $100k+ investment for this reunion?? All the girls including Robyn and Melody should be equal partners and have a say regarding the Pussycat dolls! I was WAITING for you and other KZfaqrs to cover this! I was super excited about all the new PCD music however I do think all this is jacked up! the girls(from what I’ve seen) have been able to cultivate their own close bonds with each other minus Nicole. If I’m not mistaken a few members were even bridesmaids in each other’s weddings. So melody saying that the members needed to spend more time focusing on their BTS interactions is really meant for Nicole. I have been saying for months since all the legal stuff came out, that the tour could still happen under certain circumstances. As much as I love the group, PCD was meant to be a stepping stone for Nicole and her solo career. I think the tour could work if melody rejoins the lineup, they remove Nicole as lead and give Nicole a solo set. I say this because that way they can all have what they want. In old videos you could see on the doll domination tour (when Nicole wasn’t present) the other 4 seemed to be more in sync and they looked happier without her. If you let Nicole open the show with a solo set she can have what’s rightfully hers. The spotlight alone. Then you can give the girls of PCD who truly want to make an effort in the group BE THE GROUP. They could also throw in some of melody’s solo work as it’s on brand with the pinup style PCD is known for. As an encore for the show any song Nicole has writing credits on and all their big hits as a group should be sung as a 6 piece and then you close the show. As far as PCD worldwide, Robin and Nicole should have equal stakes in the new business venture because they both have a respected role in the dolls’ popularity. PCD wouldn’t have the overall aesthetic without Robin and the music wouldn’t have been conceptualized without a voice and diverse lineup and that’s Nicole.

I need to say that Nicole didn't cancel the Tour. Ticketmaster made the official announcement on Twitter and after an hour Nicole did it on Instagram. Melody was indeed a vocalist and not a dancer. In most of the music video she’s always at the end or pushed to the back where you could barely see her during dance breaks. Even on Buttons she was just sitting in a chair during the dance breaks. She did however hold it down on blending in.
