Well the thing is Pokemon is a game for children. Obviously kids' games can't really have blood, that is quite violent. I'm pretty sure mentioning blood is too far, yes, this comment is just joking the fact that blood is considered to dark yet there are already dex entries that mention blood. I imagine Eevee evolving into a ghost type would be more likely similar to Sylveon but either knowing a Ghost type move or leveling with both high affection and friendship. Essentially, Eevee being so attached to its trainer that it sacrifices itself and evolves in the process.

That's also exactly why they'd be INTERESTING since they'd have to be extra creative with them. also it wouldn't kill them to have some more variety in eeveelutions like a more elegant/badass dragon eevee, a creepy-cute weird bug eeveelution, etc. Heck, during its debut and for a while afterward umbreon was not portrayed as "cute" at all in official media but rather a simultaneosly sleek and elegant yet also fierce and intimidating evolution(it's animation in crystal consisting of it glaring at the player while arching it's back like an angry cat, it's tcg art, it's anime appearances. everything made it clear that umbreon was intended to be far more than just "cute") heck, until recent gens the eeveelutions were never depicted or marketed as exclusively "cute" mons either. sure jolteon can be cute but it can also be cool as well adn was often depicted as a intimaditing force to be reckoned with just as often, vaporeon often was shown as the refined and elegant eeveelution, espeon has a similar elegance to it in a way as well(and same with glaceon)
