At 81, I live in a similar setting but closer to a road, and now I must hire out many of the chores I used to do myself, so I understand when you say "too late in life". So let's both tell other younger watchers of these videos that if this is their dream, go for it! If not now, when?

Agree with you Suzanne. She was probably a prepper and had food stored for a bad winter when she couldn’t get to the grocery store. I’d start growing vegetables in the spring and have a green house.

@@CottageandCompany De rien/ You're welcome. My golden retriever Henry loved the snow here in the CA mts. Henry would have loved Wilbur and they would have played well together in the snow. Wilbur looks like he is mostly labrador retriever, black lab? I grew up in the suburbs of NY. I am now a retired teacher out here in CA. I think if I had to do my life over I would have moved to either Vermont or Washington state when I finished college, instead of coming to CA, miss the seasons, especially the winter snow, the golden leaves and crisp air of autumn and the new life of spring. A state with two very cool politicians - former Governor Howard Dean, M.D. and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders -has got to be a very special, bright, peaceful and enlightened state. Howard Dean was my choice in 2004 for democratic candidate for president(instead of Kerry), and I believe he could have won against Bush W in 2004. Anyway, all the best to you three guys.
