It never occurred to me how much of an easier time I'd have with some of these items. I always thought I just sucked at slicing bread or cheese, but it's because I have right-handed knives.

Because I'm a lefty and we never had lefty scissors, I cut with my right hand.

I never realized all the things I had to adjust to. I'm used to the can openers, but the sciccors have made my life a living hell.

The best solution is to adapt your self to use it with the right hand. We lefties can do it with both hands.

I’m right handed, but I’ve had several hand surgeries on both hands (at separate times) and I’ve broken my left thumb and wrist once, so there were weeks at a time I had to try do things with my left hand. Back in the 1990s I used to write checks to pay for basic objects and it was quite hard for me to sign my name at the bottom. Because of the issues with my hands I can understand the problems left handed have if they are told to use their right hand. I would get very frustrated when my right hand was in a cast and I would ask my husband to do certain things for me like cut something with scissors or open cans....and quite a few other things. It’s not fair to ask left handed people to just use their right hand because it just doesn’t work that way.

What annoys me most about being left handed is that I can't just go to the store and buy anything I need. If I need some kitchen knives I'll need to buy them online. Same for scissors, pencil sharpeners, and as someone who plays guitar it's impossible to walk into a guitar store and try out the one you want. You'll have to take a chance with one ordered online. But I could never imagine using my right hand for much of anything dominant.

I always have to flip my notebook around so that the rings are on the right side and going from bottom to top. Most of these would be blessings.

I knew about the scissors, but bugger me if I had any idea knives were right hand specific. Judging from the comments, we all thought we were just really shit at carving. It's not my fault!

My pet peeves are soup ladles and coffee carafes that have the pouring lip on the left side. If they would either put a double lip or a re-positionable handle, it would be so great. Also, the safety switch on power tools! Arghhh!!!!

So using right handed scissors left handed does make it not cut. I didn’t know if it was that or just dull scissors. I actually learned to use a can opener right handed so yeah. I’d probably do it faster though left handed. Now I’m about half tempted to buy some of this stuff. I’m trying to think if a store near me sells the scissors.

I'm almost 50 and I just used left-handed scissors for the first time. I found them harder to use. This is probably because I have used right-handed scissors all my life and need to learn to use them differently. I use scissors with my left hand.

The best option is to become ambidextrous. Use the opposite hand for three (3) weeks (preferably more), then it becomes habit, but that doesn't work for everyone. IMAGINE A TENNIS PLAYER WHO IS AMBIDEXTROUS or MIX-HANDED....that would be a great advantage (no pun intended). :))

as left hand , use my hand for writing and cutting, but in my job have use right hand, when writing i found way hold pen as cause no problems , when i was school my english teacher comment about my writing was better than right hand , still comments are writing now i am 62 today

Half of these things I just to the right-handed way without issue. Turning a can opener doesn't require fine much motor skill that I don't have with my right hand.

I am 65 white, male, left handed, expatriated, retired, twice divorced, single, no family, have not been to homeland in decades; I spent years as a Field Artillery officer, those courses were brutal for a poor white kid, ex enlisted, who never expected to get that branch. Like the saying, it is a left handed thing, those courses were definitely, Field Artillery Gunnery, for both Army and Marines, It is a Right Hand Thing! The M16 is a right handed weapon! Isn’t there something that doctors or scientists are working on to cure this problem? Leaving people to suffer like that is bad, there should be a cure or maybe an inoculation against having children born like this. They have found the left handed genes so there should be a way to fix it.
