Women who desire marriage have to date men who are ready for marriage as well. We all know that most men don't want to get married in these current times, but there are some that still do. I know because I'm married & in my 20s. My husband was in the frame of mind of wanting a wife when we met. You are right to a degree, but only in regards to men who aren't trying to get married. A man whose open to marriage will highly respect a woman who wants to wait because it shows him that she's not having sex with any man who isn't her husband (the highest honor). I’ve had men want to marry me to feel in control and to feel like they have ownership over me and it had no foundation in actual love so I rejected them. Nobody wants to feel like a pet. It’s not always about honoring. It’s about seeing women as human first before anything. A lot of men think women having their baby is the highest honor and we all know where that leads to. But it doesn't take away from the fact that in most countries & cultures around the world, it is the highest honor to the family unit. Because what it involves & means. It holds value in the family name, both family legacies, the financial decisions, & the children. At one point in time, it was unheard of to get the additional benefits of marriage such as living together without being married first. I believe a lot of men today don't see the reasons in getting married anymore because now they can get a woman to live with them & have children much easier than say, 60+ years ago. We can't forget what marriage means, it's not only a spiritual bonding, but a legal bonding as well. Men are well aware of this. A man is making a commitment on multiple levels & before God through marriage no matter what they think. Any man can live with a woman, or date her for years or even impregnate a woman and leave her. But if he marries that woman, it will come with additional consequences if he or she ultimately leaves since the legal system is involved. In most cases, he will lose everything.... money, property & most importantly the children unless the courts deem him more suitable than the wife. I've also experienced a few men in my life who wanted to marry me, but based on their actions over time, I knew they were not ready for what marriage intells. Any guy can say they want to marry a girl & even propose to her. But until he signs those papers, he's honestly not even ready for Step 1 which is keeping his word. Let me be clear, a woman's value does not come from marriage. It comes from who she is as a person. & that goes for the same with a man. Just like degrees are valuable, & deeds are valuable, so is a marriage license. Marriage is it's own entity that some value & some do not, but we can't discredit the meaning behind it simply because a few men & women don't see it or understand it.
