I have ROCD but sometimes it sneaks up on me through some back door and I start thinking my thoughts are true and valid and not the product of irrational beliefs. This makes me feel very unstable. What do you think about being trusting your gut/instincts/heart and "inner guidance" while having OCD? I think when you have OCD these things can become blurred with much mental and emotional momentum, and lead to self-doubts. Anyway thank you for this video! I think I have codependent traits, and it might portray as ROCD.

I agree about what you said about trusting your gut and ocd. I think that you can be able to trust your gut and inner guidance on other things, but if it’s something related to one of your ocd themes, I think it’s important not to try to measure your feelings and trust your gut, because that can be compulsive. Also, ocd hijacks your feelings to make your fears seem real so you won’t be able to know if your feelings are “gut feelings” or ocd. so it’s best not to go there

This video did trigger me because sometimes I feel like I have made a life around my relationship. Now I have an urge to run away and leave my husband to start over so I can do it right. So that I can become self sufficient and not be scared of losing a relationship but I really love my husband and don’t want to leave.

This is your ROCD talking.

That's a really good point on codependeants sometimes being misdiagnosed when in reality it's ROCD. Seen it first hand as health/social workers are so OCD misinformed or ignorant.

The title of this video is very misleading. It gives the impression that some people are stuck with ROCD regardless of what they do.

People are often stuck with ROCD after trying many things and this video breaks down why that is.

@@OCDRecovery I think it can be read in two ways. "Why you might be stuck forever with OCD, and you'll just have to accept it" or "why you might be currently stuck with OCD (but you don't have to be forever)"
