This is very helpful! I've always enjoyed making and editing my own content but never pursued it, have always had that 'what if I did do it' come to mind like I made the wrong choice but after watching this there is no doubt i would of lost interest if i did go through with it. I do videos seldomly as a hobby and that is my happy place.

Thank you for sharing why you wouldn’t recommend getting an editing job. I am a new creator on KZfaq and have recently gotten interested in editing. So, I thought maybe, a side job as an editor could be helpful to gain more skill and get into the professional editing world. It’s good to know that may not be the best option. I just found your channel today and really enjoy your content already!

I like your thoughts on this, especially around having some level of autonomy and creative freedom. Do you think having a genuine connection with our clients/employers ‘why’, purpose, and their vision for the future should be one of the deciding factors on whether or not we choose to work with them? Do you think their reputation becomes our reputation (for better or for worse)? And what part of the video editing process brings you the most joy? Cheers 😊

thanks Kyle, yes most definitely - understanding who it is you're working for and their vision should align with yours - I'd say the storytelling aspect from taking raw footage and turning it into a story :D
