Can I just throw in there that you don‘t have to close the throttle while using the up quickshifter, you can just keep the throttle wide open and go through the gears thats the whole point of the thing. Still a great video but I was already pretty much convinced that a panigale will be my next bike before this video :)

That's great to know Brother! On my 2014 BMW S1000RR you had to close the throttle a bit to have the upshift "kick-in". Guess it was an old habit that transferred over to riding this bike. I will definitely have to check it out next time I ride. I guess I confirmed your hunch! I expect to hear you bought a beautiful Panigale soon!! 😉

I had the same bike and never had to close the throttle for the quick shift to work. The whole Point is shifting at full throttle.

You do not have to convince me.. 7,000 miles in 3 months of riding my 2017 1299S . I ride in the rain all the time,, INCREDIBLE !! Street fighter V4 will be next addition in memory of Calvin Dunne. A Tragic loss to the Ducati community. He was a regular guy , always available for advice R.I.P.

This bike IS the best bike there is "AT PUSH", but for hwy or city riding its horrible. I love my 1299s and live with the downsides because when your pushing.... its fantastic, but it isn't perfect. For me the #1 best thing is the handling, it handles like absolute heaven

Great points my Friend! The "PUSH" is something everyone needs to experience on a Panigale. They probably wouldn't stop smiling....well until the heat was too much for their legs! 😉 It's definitely not a bike for the feint-hearted when hwy or city riding. I personally get pissed at how hot the bike gets. Ride safe and thanks for commenting!

It’s not really the swingarm. It’s the magnesium clutch cover valve cover headlight bracket. Aluminum vs steel tank forged vs cast wheels.

I’m from Texas and it gets blisteringly hot in the summer. Since you’re in Florida, is your bike a garage beauty in July and August or is it bearable to ride? For me it’s a tossup between s1000rr and the V4, but heat is the biggest question. Buying in September.

Great video man! I see you now have a V4 Speciale - Congrats! Is there anything you miss from the 1299? I currently own a s1000rr and want to purchase a Panigale.. not sure if the V4 is worth the additional $10k over an 1199

I almost bought a 2016 1299 from Joey, however I found a better deal on a 2017 in Omaha, NE that I had shipped to Tampa. Joey is a good dude though. Very helpful and insightful.

How would u compare this bike 2 the rsv4 or the r1 as these are the 3 bikes im intrested in

Hi Jarone. So I’ve ridden an RSV4 but not the newer R1. I loved the sound of the RSV4, but much prefer the overall aggressiveness of the 1299. I will say the R1 crossplane engine sounds amazing too (heard one revving at a bike meet). I made a review video on my RSV4 test ride. You can find it in first ride playlist. Good luck!

Yes by far. I would describe the S1000RR as smooth, cumulative power while the 1299 is raw and aggressive. Hope that helps!

It's an honorable mention, but didn't make the top 3. It's nearly impossible to get one here in Tampa. Most went to the west coast. I like it though.

i think the only significant drawback that can be considered is price , ducatis are really expensive as compared to japanese sportbikes, and as far as heat is concerned all superbikes heat up because of high revving engines.

That would be a good plan The 16 rf stock exhaust is loud The 17 not so much .I wouldn't want to just have my rf .I still have my 06 gixxer with original battery still I love it.I remember seeing your fire blade back then .I have 3 bikes but honestly Ducati's scare me and I do all my own work including tire changes.When you do an oil change you have to take it to the dealer 56bucks to take light off. My dealership is an hr away

I bet that '06 gixxer is a reliable beast! I do miss my Fireblade greatly. I got my eye on the new 2021 Fireblade. Ducati's do suck when it comes to maintenance. I might be selling my 1299 before too long. Cheers!

Panigale 1299,959,899 all sound same or different And most importantly All panigale are loud or no because in video I sound like single cylinder bike trying hard to roar.

All the Panigales pretty much sound the same. The bike is very loud in person. The video sound does not do it justice. The bike is so loud, it vibrates your bones!

I get the same thing on my 16 rf it's so rare People take pictures of it when I go to gas stations and other places .The v4 sound is the best sounding motor I've heard even with stock exhaust I test rode a 1199 my rf was superior to it But I did hear 1299 is better.One bad thing you didn't mention is 15,000 mile service 2000 bucks ouch.Love your bike but in warm climate I will take a BMW. I've always recommended having another bike to go along with the Ducati or aprilia. I have the BMW and the aprilia perfect combo

The Aprilias do sound good...even with stock exhaust! I remember test riding the Tuono and thinking, "wow does this have an aftermarket exhaust?", nope it was bone stock! Luckily I am nowhere near the 15k mile service yet on my Panigale, lol. I have like 3200 miles. I definitely will consider holding on to the Ducati and looking for a less heat producing 2nd bike. My 14 is pretty fast my rf beat the 1299 Once I put full system on BMW with pc5 and map install its violent in slick mode

HAND SIGNALS?! they work great because people see your HANDS and ARMS waving all the same. Signals on the ducatis are just a check box to say its road legal.

Yes I do. By a pretty decent margin too. It's not a fair race though. 1000cc against 1285cc.

@@TheDucatiPilot i dont have a bike, and is not possible for me pay for one right now in my life, but i hope soon i can have one, maybe not a beautiful panigale like yours, but maybe i can start with some other bike (a cheap one), in my country (Mexico), Ducatis are even more expensives than other countries, but some day i hope i can afford one

@@jbcasvel I hope you can get a bike soon my Friend! An older CBR600rr is always a great inexpensive bike to own an maintain. You could always go with something smaller also, such as a CBR250R. That was my first bike. Take care and good luck!
