Heelflip. I can't do it with my heel. I have to use my toe and it makes it inconsistent and sketchy. Half the time it half flips and lands upside down. Any tips for this?

When I'm not warmed up, kickflips fly rocket. I believe it's due to my back foot not raising high enough with the timing of the trick... partially due to hip mobility (lack thereof). I think over-thinking right before trick execution could be another interesting topic. That's something I struggle with on tail slides. Sometimes I'll be thinking thoughts like "are my feet right", "am I looking at the right spot on the ledge/rail", am I bending knees at right time" these are 'mental blocks' I stumble with time&time again regardless of having done the trick over 1000 times.

flicking my grip too hard leaves the grip feeling sore and inflamed at times so to combat this I coat my shoes in tumeric as I remember you said this can help with inflammation :) I also put tumeric in my wax as well to prevent ledges from getting inflamed

Just starting to flick properly again after an ankle break a year and a half ago. Really frustrating regressing but you gotta keep going

I analyzed and saw some videos about my kickflips. The ankle break position is the missing part. I flick my board but my ankle is not floppy enough to have a good flick and I just can't smoothen it. I was worried that it was just my body not like the others and wondered how others could bend their ankle so easily, now I have my answer. I didn't train my brain to that. Can't wait to see the next video

I realised relatively recently that my front foot is flicking not just out and down in the classic can't get your front foot on fashion, but also that it's doing this because it's flicking anti-clockwise instead of clockwise (I'm regular footed and describing kickflip flick as opposed to heel). So the result is it pops fine, flips fine, back foot can catch bolts, and my upper body position ensures I could not humanly be in the right place to get my front foot on. The real problem post this realisation is that this has been over two decades of my kickflip attempts and, now at forty four and mindful of how long the warm up can be for me to ollie half way normally, I've no idea if it's even still possible to physically practice them!

Great video! I have a very good flick, the problem is the coordination. I just cant think at all at once, and my Back foot always misses the landing…

My hip flexor is toast from last session trying to keep my lead hip open during kickflips. I’m a natural heelfliper front shuv guy so kickflip tricks feel very whack to me
