It's finally time to lay some paint on the Civic after months of body work! I turned my home garage into a spray booth and started laying it down!

Bro seeing every stage of your build makes it that much better, it started as a regular civic and now its the little JDM Tuner, super stoked with it, love seeing the mistakes too! how you deal with them and your little fixes. Look forward to seeing more!

Omni is good. They also make a ready shoot primer that is “2k” hybrid with out the need of activator but I digress. Yes let your two part primer cure prior to paint but…,if you want to know exactly how long is required before the activated primer to fully dry cured?… save your waste primer in a cut and just our out a level amount about 3mm tall and monitor it. It’ll be hard as a rock in two days but in two months it will shrink significantly and fully shrunk and die back in 1 year. I let my 2k primed 03” Spec V sit in the garage for a year before I blocked it with 400 & 600. No wetsand buff out the booth and no wetsand buff 5 years later. There was no buoyancy within the primer substrate for the base to sink into and the 600 cut has a much lower profile than 400 but some still got it with wetsand grits but then you suffer adhesion loss in the future. My phone is on life saver mode so I cannot see your paint job that well with a dark screen but it looks clean. YES low temp reducers👌 you got it… go slow reducer with everything! You can go normal sometimes depending on your discretion but then ALWAYS come back with your last coat made with slow reducer and slow activator. Last tip, people use accelerator for rush jobs but accelerator also “accelerated” the aging process of the clear coat life span. The first signs of that is the shrinkage and possible die back from using a splash of accelerator in the clear. The slower they cure, the longer they last. You can still go back to your other 2k primer and try using slow activator and add a little slow reducer even if it doesn’t call for it. Keep it thick for build at first and once all the feather edges are “filled” and undetectable, then you reduce your primer more and shoot it like you’re laying your last clear coat on a hood. The primer will turn out looking and feeling like a vinyl wrap I promise. You can hold me accountable for that 😆😎👌

@@kraftingkars ….. you have the touch though, you got it in you. You remind me of my younger self and it’s kind of nostalgic watching the next generation of pros. I do apologize for the extensive comment but hearing you say all the right things in the correct sequence is gratifying because when it comes to autobody and paint on KZfaq.., there’s so much conflict that it grinds my gears but you’ve got it together and your on a great path.💪

This is considered a wide body ?
@kraftingkars
@kraftingkars 9 ай бұрын
Yessir, it's 6 inches wider in the front and 4 inches wider in the rear. I followed the factory fender arches to make it flow nice like OEM. It's all steel. I'd argue this is more of a "widebody" than those bolt on kits
