You’re pretty close, I’ve heard you from C#2 to B4, so if you can get your chest voice a little higher (which should be doable, my high chest range went from daily E4 to daily C5 in under a year of practice), you can get 3 octaves as well.

F4 isn’t tenor, any bass with proper technique and training can hit an F4.

jonathan's A1 is actually a B1. his lowest chest note is Bb1 and if im not mistaken i believe he has a chest Bb4 in a bgv for wolf within and possibly a chest B4 on starship velociraptor but i would have to listen to it again to remember if its chest or mixed

Great video man. I do have some corrections though. Avi Kaplan's lowest note is F1. He hit that during a TikTok he made. Jonathan Young's highest note is C#5 Scott Hoying's highest note is C5 from the joke Let it Go JD Sumner's lowest note is G0 at the bottom of the slide you included I thought I heard you mention your lowest note was C#2 Geoff's lowest note is technically E1 from some of the slides he's done. Nothing Else Matters and Cheerleader. Also I was going to say his highest note was B4 from Oogie Boogie Song but I think that was actually mix so you're good there. And Eric Calloway's lowest note is C1 from his Way Down short. Btw I'm surprised you didn't include Eli Jacobson. B1 - E5 (3 octaves 5 Semitones)

Thank you! Jonathan Young’s C#5 is mixed. Scott Hoying’s C5 is mixed. My C#2 is just air, not really a countable note. I don’t count the E1 slides in cheerleader and nothing else matters, but that’s a fair point. Eric Hollaway’s C1 is chest fry. Eli’s E5 is mixed. I know about Avi’s “F1” but I couldn’t tell if there was actually an F1 in there or not so to be safe I left it out. JD bottomed out at a B0 on this slide, there is another slide where he hits G0 but I couldn’t tell if it was chest or chest-fry so I didn’t include it.

@@BassManMatteo Ok, all fair points. I'm hoping one day I can reach a 3 octave range. My everyday range is around C2-F4 and my full range is Bb1-G#4 so I've got a ways to go

So weird how that Bb4 or B4 is the limit of so many basses in chest voice (including myself), regardless of how low they can go.

More like A4 for a lot of them but there are a handful of basses with a pretty good C5 chest

@@hugobasilio1303, I can get to C5 for a belt on a good day... with D#1 being my lowest chest note on a good day... those good days rarely happen on the same day (leaving my day-to-day chest range as E1-B4; with chest-fry, head voice, falsetto being A#0-C#6 at-will).

Wow, that's impressive!!!🤯🤯🤯🤯 On a good day, I can get a solid Bb1/B1. My day-to day chest range is C2-G5. With Falsetto, I can go up to a B6. With whistle, I can get up to a G7, with head voice, I go up to C7. With Ingressive Phonation, I go down to G-5 EASILY, and pure fry down to G-5, on a good day. With subharmonics, my chest-sub goes down to A0. My Chest-fry limit, stops at a B0. My favourite singer is Geoff Castellucci, as well!!! I listen to his songs every single day, and he is just the best at what he does, I don't hear any bass singer, with that agility and versatility in his voice.😍😍😍😍 He is just brilliant, and my idol!!!💞💞💞

Honorable mention for DatMCE from BSN? :P F#1 - Eb5. Not sure if I have that Eb5 recorded. If not, I probably have a D5 somewhere. I know that the F#1 was not recorded unfortunately, but I do have a G1 or two somewhere lol.

I believe Zakkary Suddath, mat Spriggs, and Glen Miller’s clips were chest fry but great video! Also Geoff has a full chest F1 and a “half countable” E1 in chest for reference in future videos

There are two full chest F1's in Daddy Sing Bass, and technically it's in the beggining of the video, where Geoff repeats the same bass line.

@@bradycall1889 Yeah, I believe so. It had a gritty tone, but some people claim to be mixed voice, but I am more inclined to chest voice, since he has the ability to go very high in chest. I would not be surprised if he had that high C in chest, on a good day, which might have been the case.

Not in chest voice. The B0 is subharmonics and the A5 is falsetto.

Geoff's full recorded range now stands as A0-A#5. But, his chest voice is F#1-B4... although, there have been times he's hit F1 and other times he has hit C5 in chest voice... it's not always there. In reality, his 100% of the time range is A1-B4.

A few corrections (I think but you're Matteo so I'm probably wrong) Avi Kaplan's lowest chest is F#1 (PTX Sing, very end, background Scott Hoying's highest chest is C5 (The joke Let it Go, PTX) Mikhail Zlatopolsky has an Eb1 chest with GWR, and maybe a C1 in that one gospel song I forgot the name of JD Sumner might have a G0 chest but the recording is old so difficult to tell if chest or chest-fry Geoff Castellucci has a repeated slid E1 chest and also potentially a held one in Nothing Else Matters. He also has a B4 chest in Oogie Boogie's song (Voiceplay, very end) Glenn Miller's lowest chest is closer to a Bb0 than a B0 but it could be considered any of the 2 Tim Foust's F1 in that clip is chest-fry I'm pretty sure Casper Fox has a G1 in 'pushed chest', ie it doesn't sound like him exactly but is still a solid G1 Eric Hollaway has a debatable C1 chest in a Way Down short Dimash should be on here (C2-C6) Not trying to criticize or anything it's an amazing video! Just trying to help it be more accurate

Thank you! There’s a lot of debate over whether Avi’s F#1 is real or an octave drop, so to be safe I didn’t include it. Scott’s C5 is mixed. Zlatopolsky’s Eb1 was probably chest, so I think you are right about that. The C1 I’m not so sure about though. Geoff’s E1 in nothing else matters was… interesting and I wasn’t sure if it was chest. The cheerleader slide could be counted but I didn’t want to include it since it wasn’t held. That one was a close decision though. Thanks for the correction in Glenn’s note. Tim’s F1 sounded like chest but he’s so good at chest fry that I don’t doubt it being strong chest fry. Im pretty sure Eric’s C1 is chest fry since his C1 and C#1 sound so different than any of his other low notes that it’s probably chest fry. Everything Dimash sings above B4/C5 is mixed and his C2 is chest fry.

@@qts Yeah, I totally get what you are saying. The amount of bass bossing and instruments out there, makes it sounding like it's fry, but if you listen closely, it's a full chest, because in the bass Singing community, a chest note is composed by 95% of chest and maybe 5% of fry, thought it is claimed as a chest note, because a chest note is clean, full and powerful, while fry is just a bobble pop or the creaky of a door. You can clearly watch Geoff's Q&A videos, he explains this, as well. If you want the link, I will leave it below.
