I built a 2.1 system using this board as an internal amp and got good performance using the stock power supply. One thing that I was really impressed with was the ability to use Airplay. It ran last night for three hours straight at one-third volume and the heat sink fins were warm but not hot.

The output power is directly tied to the current at 24V as you stated. You just need to pick up a 24V 6.66A (160W) adapter. I am running two 8 ohm stereo drivers and a single 12” 2 ohm sub. I watched the video but may have missed the part about their control software. Using a sine sweep, you can plot the response graph then create a complex parametric filter which can be embedded directly into the board’s flash storage. This is a huge deal especially for DIY DML setups which have dozens of harsh vibrational modes that need to be eq’d out to flatten the system response.

Nice Video! Another Question: Your Device seems to be showing the amp not even producing sufficient volume at 16KHz, what does this mean? Does play up to 20 KHz?

I have mission 771 bookshelf speakers. They can take from 25Wpc at 8Ohms. I tried topping mx3 which has stated 38wpc and performance was just audible, mushy and indistinct when the amp was driven to 60% volume. Sensitivity: 87dB. I guess this wouldn't do any better.

I connected this little amp to my 4 OHM DML's. It sounded just fine and got plenty loud.

The Topping people agreed that it's not capable of handling my amp with the supplied power supply 24v. 4 Ohm speakers are easier to drive clearly.

Good video Like the amp! Is there something like this, but without the amp, that I can hook up to my existing amp in order to add wifi and bluetooth capabilities?

seems quite interesting. So, iIf using a 19v source it would realistically give me an output of 2x35w and somewhere near 75w one the sub out, all out driven in 4Ohms, at least in theory. Am I correct ?

Great video!!! I was about to build a bluetooth speaker based on the specs. Sorry for the confusion. But I planned to power this with a buck boost converter at 24v 4amps like the power supply using 7s2p 6ah battery pack. You mentioned, you wouldn't go higher than 15v. What should I pick for voltages. Thanks again for posting 👍👍👍👍👍

@@DIYAudioGuy Arylic sent me the same unit, with a psu and remote. 4th amp these guys have sent. Reason I'm asking what you should power this with, I thought I heard you say it started clipping at 10v? If that's the case 24 volts. Is way to much. Techs told me, 24v8amps would be perfect for this, just don't go past 24v. But I think I'd trust your opinion first. Did I hear it right with the clipping? What do you think of using 24v 8amp? Thanks for messaging me back.

Let's say I am on my windows device and have a youtube video open -- and I want to cast the audio to one of these devices... The realistic situation for most people is that they have no music downloaded on their devices -- how would I achieve this?

Bluetooth would be the most direct way. I don't think that the device has a KZfaq interface.

Would this board support Wifi input via Spotify? Or is the app required for all direct play?

It requires the app and I'm pretty sure the app would connect to Spotify. It would not connect to Pandora.

It does not require the app. You can connect your iPhone Spotify app via Spotify Connect for a direct stream.

Probably, yes. But, I used the one they sent me, which is the one they sell on their website. So this is clearly the one they expect to be used.

....not at all - on this type of amplifiers (amp chips/ics) performance is dependenced on voltage, not on current in majority...resp. on current are dependent performance / power in spikes only (and for this work are the capacitors on the board), but overall power is dependent on voltage, whitch is restricted by specifications of the chip/ic...

@xanderguldie 2 жыл бұрын
@@feflofeflic you are suggesting that amps don't matter. Voltage without amps equals nothing and visa versa. Also, you can't simply put in more volts as you will fry the unit. Secondly, It's always a good thing to have a little headroom. According to my calculations, you need a 24 volt, 6.5 amp power supply to get the most out if this thing.
@feflofeflic

@@xanderguldie u r right - i wrote it not totally correctly (it was very simplified), but i wanted said only 1 thing - if u have a power supply with low voltage is uselless to have a high possible current on it - performance of "digital" amplifier will be low, but if u want a good performance of this type of amplifier, u need power supply with decent voltage and current together (in high voltages (on the border of recommended voltage) there is a danger of ov3rheating amplifier chip)... sorry for my bad english...

As soon as I figure out a better way to visualize what's going on I'll do it. The tricky part about using music is the KZfaq copyright restrictions, plus KZfaq will compress the sound, goodbye with the fact that most people are listening using the speaker on their phone...

They use some strange practices in this company in my view... They should at least provide the back plate of this amplifier because with all these connections, it is very difficult to include it in a box. And if you buy it in this version, this is the purpose I guess. So in reality, it is useless to buy it like this.
@DIYAudioGuy
@DIYAudioGuy 2 жыл бұрын
That is exactly why I have two of these DIY boards sitting in a drawer. I think you are right, if it had a back plate that could be easily flush mounted on just about any enclosure that it would be a much better device.
