On February 3rd, 2017, the City of Los Angeles honored Godiva's Secret Wigs and proclaimed this day "Wig Wearers Empowerment Day." We created this day to provide men, women and children a special day to share their positive thoughts about wigs with coworkers, friends and family members.
Wear your wig! Talk about the importance of wigs, not just for fun, but also to provide an environment of acceptance which allows wig wearers the freedom to blend into society everyday, feeling natural and attractive, without embarrassment or ridicule. Share your wig on Social Media! Take a picture of yourself in your wig and post to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or Twitter, using #WigWearersEmpowermentDay

I love my wigs!! I have over 15 now. My hair is fine and thin and aging has affected it. Now I walk out the door in 15 minutes.

I try to treat every day as wig empowerment day. If a woman compliments me on my "hair" I always let them know that it's a wig. I remember my first day wearing a wig, how nervous I was, so when other women realize that I'm wearing a wig and they couldn't tell, I hope that it gives them the courage to wear one also.

This is a wonderful idea! I don't know if I'm right about this, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the reason we don't see more commercials and advertisements about wigs and celebrity endorsements of wigs could be because of the strong pushback by hair product manufacturers, hairdressers, etc., who feel very threatened by women wearing wigs and hairpieces.

I do understand that sharing such an amazing product as wigs still has financial and personal ramifications/fears for others who aren't in the biz or need to hold onto their personal, public identity. Yes (and being connected to “The Industry, I know for a fact that a great many, if not the majority, of actresses ate wearing wigs on and off screen)!
