Wild Camping in the MSR Tindheim 2 and Emilie's FIRST WILD CAMP - the weather closes in!
In this video, I take my ten year old daughter on her first ever wild camp - she did great! Emilie climbed to the summit of our location wearing an adult sized 38 litre pack, full of her gear and the food for the camp - not a grumble or complaint in sight.
Emilie stayed warm and cosy in her MSR 'Honcho Poncho' which is a great bit of kit for the younger generation. I pitched the tent and we enjoyed some fantastic views across the north west and out to the Irish Sea. Our evening meal consisted of some lovely Aberdeen Angus burgers cooked on the Fire Maple Blade stove which is made from titanium.
A late evening walk to the trig point and some summit exploration. As night drew in, the conditions began to deteriorate, with strong winds picking up and heavy, driving rain battering the tent.
The next morning, we awoke to a very different scene - full of clag and mist.
A fantastic experience for Emilie and one which she very much enjoyed. For me, priceless memories which I will treasure.

Brilliant Chrislad👊🏼 Both me and Mrs. B reckon the best thing we ever did for our two boys, was take them wildcamping. We think the positive seeds it sews, for their thinking and outlook are priceless. They absolutely love it, just as you can see your two do already. Excellent vid. proud of you getting the daughter out young to learn to experience another side of life, a good one. My daughter and I started at her age of two and continued into adult life. She will be 34 next go around. A great respect for outdoor life. We saw a lot of North America by auto and motorcycle. Many BMWMOA and BMWRA rallies. It has been a wonderful experience. Now with the grandson. Take care.

They're invaluable in high wind when you need to be sure you're not going to lose a guy line - which as we know would mean pole failure in strong winds many times. Hopefully Emilie will be smashing her own videos out in years to come!

Well done emilie! Definitely a feat going up them steps! It's a lovely place there. Truly peaceful and quiet once the sun sets. Glad all went OK and not too bad weather. It's weird how the signal just disappears there but fine bit further back. Going to take my youngest there one day. Maybe when weather's better.

Great video, Emilie did very well carrying everything and putting up with the typical British weather. As someone who hasn't camped before I have to ask - what do you do about going to the toilet? Obviously you go outside, but it didn't look like there was anywhere particularly private to hide, especially if there were lots of walkers about! Maybe not an issue for you (easier for us guys anyway lol) but for Emilie on her first wild camp, was she not bothered by it? Then there's having to find somewhere to go after dark! It'd put me off having anything to drink thinking I've got to go out in that weather to pee 😂 Hope you don't mind me asking 🙈 You can tell I'm used to hotels!

Haha, one of the facts of wild camping - Emilie was fine - lots of very quiet moments so all good. Lots of people just use a bottle in their tent (if you're a bloke) 👍

Hello Chris. How high is pavey ark above the lake you camp around. I hate trying to find out about prominences. Like Everest is 29000 ft and so above sea level but the prominence is 15 to 17000.
