Really? I hated Brick House for some reason and I was a toking rock chik/funkadelica back then. The days when you could be both. Wild Cherry for sure got us up and AWB Pick up the pieces; more blue eyed soul from Scotland should you care to look them up. They were huge at one time. (70s). You could dance to anything you wanted to; Friday go clubbing; Saturday: go see a cool rock band in London. Simples.

when I was in high school, in the late 70s I moved from a two horse farming town to another state in into a big city. where I met people not my color, and became best friends with Pookie. Pookie took my a concert. My first funk concert. Wild Cherry. The Ohio Players. and Earth Wind and Fire. that night Changed my life forever, the next day I bought a bass and Bootsy Collins found a new fan. This music open my eyes and new doors to world of wonderful people I would have never had the opportunity to meet otherwise. Also led me to the land of jazz and then later hip hop. Thank you Pookie! Oh how wonderful seeing these bands in the 70s was. Thank you for the reminders of how priveledged we were to see these artists.

Yep, and the chorus of "play that funky music, white boy" was sung in a higher key than in the usual version so there's most def something wonky with the vocal track, it sounds like a hybrid i.e. edited together from two different sources because the lead singer's vocal is identical to the more common version of this song.
