Reaves its not dirty, Marchand is dirty. Wilson is dirty. Reaves plays old style hockey and is more of an outlier in today's league as it has transitioned to a less physcial and more goals direction. I find hockey games today boring to watch as there is not much emotion, Reaves brings that in Spades. That is why he is effective and a force to be aware of when out on the ice.

After the game, Red Wings coach Derek LaLonde absolved Reaves of blame for the hit and said Hronek was expecting a delayed penalty, hence the lack of awareness. "I think Filip would want his play back - exposing himself," LaLonde told reporters after the game, per Joe Smith. "I talked to him quick there. He thought there was a penalty on the play. He was waiting for the goalie to come out ... I know Reaves was not malicious."

Wonder if this hit/game will have Stevie Y looking for a tough guy or at least a power forward. Red Wings have some young talent and they need a little protection. Hit was clean and sure Hornet will learn a valuable lesson. And Reaves you don’t go to war in sports you go to compete. People die in wars!

Oh shut up. You want ballerinas on ice, go watch figure skating. Targeted the head? He hit him square chest on chest. If you notice properly, only his upper left arm clips Hronek's face. But back when Gordie Howe or Wayne Gretzky played, a hit like that was a perfectly clean hit. Hockey's the fastest contact sport on Earth, you're gonna get hit and hit hard sometimes. The fact is Filip Hronek provoked Reaves on that shift, then he gets the puck and casually skates in the middle of the ice while looking behind him...it's too bad he got hurt, but that's his fault, not Reaves' and not the refs. Even the Wings' coach said it was clean...
