This was my most anticipated remake of all time and it's so surreal that it's actually here! It it turned out so well! I'm so glad to have A Wonderful Life with me on the switch now, I'm going to put a stupid amount of hours into this one

Every single thing I thought, you touched on. My primary disappointment in the remake is the lighting and realism of the weather/time change. I loved watching the sun rise and set, marvel at how hardcore the typhoon weather got at times, as well as stargazing as night and seeing certain stars appear each season.

this game genuinely suits the title, story of seasons, moreso than any other in the franchise

I'm so glad this game got the remake it deserved. There were so many things that needed to be updated and tweaked and now that they have been the game is able to shine even more than it did in the past. Also I like how linear the chapter system is and it makes me feel like I could replay it a lot

I also wanted to comment how I love the new chapter system too. How it only takes one year for each chapter to progress. The original, it put me off from finishing fully because it'd always take forever to finish a chapter since you'd have to complete two years or three years first

I never played the original game but I did play Friends of Mineral Town remake and Pioneers of Olive Town and although I'm only on the winter season of the first chapter I have to say I prefer this game over the others. A large part is that this game is more true to life than any previous games whereas you create a life for yourself and evolve as time passes. People get older including yourself and I'm looking forward to chapter two changes since I'm getting close.

Im enjoying the game, but i have a few pet peeves with it. Being rushed to get married annoyed me. I felt like i couldn't really take my time to get to know each character before decidinf i guess. Also im in fall of year 2 and i feel like i dont have much to do besides chores and occasional requests. But it helps me feel better knowing that you said there is more content as you go. Its just a slow start. Overall i like the game though

A Wonderful Life was a formative game of mine as a child. When I heard it was getting a remake I actually cried. Finally bought my copy today and I’m so happy.

Even though there are a few things I wash they didn't change or touch from the original, this remake is so amazing and the things they did change are such good changes that I don't mind at all at the end of the day. I'm loving playing through this game and am already on year 4!

It's a nice remake, I wanted to try it before but I guess I wasn't really up for the challenge back then. The remake's kinda quality of life changes kinda help with that along with the ability to keep playing since though it's understandable given this game I don't really like having to end the game sometimes in farming sims I enjoy. Finish the main story? Sure but finishing the game & having to start over? It's stupid but I'd like the ability to choose to start over when I want to. They did a great job with the game despite issues here & there, the issues can be over looked & I wonder how things will go for future if they use the experience from this for future games.

I really do enjoy this new SOS game! Here to having a grand time for the new entries along the new Rune Factory games!

The last farming game i played is Harvest moon friends of mineral town , i remember i was just a kid and fell in love with this kind of game like i would stay up all night to play that game. And now i have my own money to buy myself a switch and i waited for this Story of Seasons , its still a great and fun cozy game but since i played HMFoM the days per season is kinda fast for me and the time wont stop ticking so it feels very fast but its ok it didnt failed me to have fun of this game , hoping they still give some more and more updates on this games ❤

Got the game on xbox (the same day they put friends of mineral town on gamepass) and i'm loving it. It's such a cozzy game, i play it in between multiplayer games and I love the pace, the scenes, the neighbors. There is so much soul about this game in the presentation and in what tries to convey. I know I'm a few months late, but I did get this game on launch and have loved it since. I have taken substantial breaks, but always intend to go back. That's just a me thing, though. I played the original in college, so my nostalgia for it isn't strong. I definitely liked the concept but there were so many gameplay aspects that brought the experience down for me. This game basically fixed most of those issues and while a game like SoS or Trio are probably still my two favorites in the series, this remake is a very enjoyable and a unique experience for just farming sims in general. I hope if they continue to do remakes, they continue to refine the games as opposed to what FoMT did, which imo, was too faithful without enough updates. This game was a nice balance, though I'd really like to see them add more dialogue options for every character to make talking to residents during the years more impactful. That to me would be the most welcome change. As games like Trio have so much rich and unique dialogue opportunities that I just want more of that. Great review, really agree with most points

Man, HM AWL was so awesome! It was one of my first-ever games, my 2nd Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons game. I had such fun with it, and seeing my game child grow up! I think I married Cecilia the first time, then Muffy/Molly. I think last time I played I was going for Nami. I wish I'd owned the girl version, though, and the version for PS2. However, I still have my original AWL minidisk for GameCube and play on my WII from time to time. I snapped up the remake and LOVE it so much! It's definitely nostalgic for me, in the way Mineral Town (which I love anyway) just wasn't because I never played it aside from a smidge on the PSP version, Harvest@ Moon: Boy and Girl, which had basically Friends Of/More Friends of Mineral Town in one game. I hope they do more remakes, honestly. My REAL big nostalgia game was Magical Melody. I had such fun, that was my first Harvest Moon game! I'd LOVE to see a new version of that. I'd not mind a revamped Tree of Tranquility or Animal Parade, though. I'm not sure which, but probably the latter ... or both? I don't know, I married Jin in both and loved the games. Probably Animal Parade would be great because you could ride the animals, even the cows!

I am loving this remake. Its everything I wanted it to be. Theres a few things I wish they had done a little better but overall I'm happy with how it turned out.

I've played a wonderful life as a kid along with the other two editions and used emulators in the past to play them again and always said that this game needs a remake, I am so glad it got one and tbh my favorite feature they added is the fertilizer maker saves so much money and time and lets you sell more crops instead of turning some into seeds to keep the S rank.

I love everything about this game and the improvements, except the cuteness of it all and the name changes. Does anyone even know why they changed some of the character names? Does Natsume own them?

What about hybrid crops? Are they actually worth fusing now?

Ive been wanting this game remade for like 10 years and i'm so glad they did. i just started my playthrough and so far i'm really liking it! same boat with preferring the " produce milk only after pregnancy " mechanic, but i see the appeal of ditching it as well. with how much they did change, i honestly would have really enjoyed they add some new secret things to the game that weren't in the original at all, and just not tell anyone so we had to figure it out for ourselves haha the things they did add/change feel pretty minor so far A new family with two marriage candidates (a guy and a girl ) would have been really nice, same with one additional color cow and/or horse, i would have been over the moon had they added that, it would have been a very welcomed addition by basically everyone.

I will admit I do love this game. I restarted 4 times. I have learned a lot more tricks. Sadly I never played harvestmoon game. I once saw the one you planed on Nes. The only two I have played is friends of mineral town and the Pioneers of Olive town. I been waiting for this to come to steam for awhile. Almost wish I had a Nintendo switch.

Are all upgrades or anything else purchased with faux funds earned from gameplay .. versus pay-to-play schemes?

Now i just want HMDS to be re-released to the switch like how Rune Factory 4 was. No changes to gameplay or graphics minus touch controls, that game was perfect and i constantly want to play it again but i dont like the way it plays when i emulate it on my computer, i need a full re-release. The AWL remake is stunning tbh. I was a little offput by the graphical change when the previews came out but the cartoony pastel look is truly beautiful.

So my first Harvest Moon game was A Wonderful Life being quite excited for the remake when it was announced. Though it has been quite so time since I've played the original, I did get the feeling that things felt... easier in the remake. And lo and behold I was right, but I'm actually glad because the original could be quite a challenge, especially for a new player (why was my first Harvest Moon experience hard mode lmao??) and this has been such a blast without the struggles from the original. So I'm glad the developers decided to make such important quality of life changes that was very much needed for said original. Overall it has been such a wonderful nostalgic time for me playing this remake and I recommend it to anyone who wants to give this a try whether you're coming back from playing the original or a new face to the game!

The sin of removing sickness and animals dying is really annoying to me, that shit scarred me as a kid. I cried when my cow died and I want other kids to be traumatized like me dammit
