Hopefully it's better than the 7 because mine was just and they will not replace it! The customer service sucks if you have problems especially when they are in a different country. I will never by another product from them again!

I have some awesome prints with this one. It's priced at only $309 (early bird + $20 coupon), which is absolutely amazing. However, there is one downside that I have noticed. The Y-axis rollers tend to wear out quickly when printing at high speeds. Additionally, I recommend always using a brim when printing. I suggest using a 6mm brim with a 0.2mm offset for easier removal. This not only helps with adhesion but also protects the corners from warping. It's important to note that increasing the speed might not result in a significant improvement due to the volumetric flow of the bigger nozzle size, which is around 30mm^3/s. So, keep that in mind when considering increasing the printing speed.

i picked up an SV07 about 2 months ago,, and from my previous printer to this one its a dramatic change.. while it has its issues, i overlook them due to its sheer speed.. something which would of taken ~12hours on my previous printer takes 2-3 hours on this printer. my only gripes was the lack of linear rails.. but everything else was as advertised. defiantly worth the extra 100usd over the current ender 3..
@WildRoseBuilds

Yep! I really don't know why they didn't use linear rails on this one. maybe we'll see an SV06 get klipper in the future!

I upgraded to this from a Sidewinder X1, so my perspective puts this in a very favorable light. I don’t mind wheels and belts - I have a cnc mill that uses rods and I’m not impressed by them to the extent that I wish my printer had them.

Looks like it's time to replace my old SV03. I was thinking about the Bambu P1P (coreXY is the future), but I need something for bigger prints (I agree, that a printer this size needs a 0.6mm nozzle). At this price, I can save up for the Bambu after I get the SV07.

Look into the qidi xmax 3. Core xy with heated enclosure and 330x330 build volume. I’ve been getting amazing prints on mine using abs at high speeds. I’ll have a review on that shortly!

So besides the lights, what is the point of that *massive* shroud? It doesn't seem to have anything on it besides the lights. Also, I would really love to see a direct comparison between this and the Neptune 4 Plus (hopefully Sovol does a Max version of this to match the Neptune 4 Max).
@WildRoseBuilds
@WildRoseBuilds 10 ай бұрын
yeah the shroud is a waste. i dont think sovol will do a max version of this, i dont think they have ever made a printer larger than 300MM. the big comparison between this and the neptune 4 plus is the built in accelerometers and the gantry struts which i think work better than the angle brackets here.

@@WildRoseBuilds did you have to patch the neptune firmware? there have been banging issues with homing the plus and max. So far, it's looking like if you adjust driver_sgthrs slightly and slow down homing speed to ~20-40, it will rectify the issue.

I just got mine. Assembled, leveled the bed and printed up the benchie supplied. almost flawless. Yay! my first print ever! I tried loading a couple of prints from cura 5.0, but it threw out an unrecognized command error. needs an upgrade. downloaded the firmware supplied on their website. followed the instructions supplied, when I pressed upgrade, it spat out an error message in Chinese, and bricked itself. Any idea how to fix this?
@WildRoseBuilds
@WildRoseBuilds 10 ай бұрын
did you try to flashing over USB? there should be a way to upgrade from an attached thumbdrive instead which i find has better results. as for slicer i'd stick to whatever they supply even if its a bit older. there's usually some funky start and end gcode you have to transfer to a newer version of cura.

@@WildRoseBuilds That is exactly how I did it. reformatted the thumb drive and copied the firmware file 1.0.9something. I then put it in the machine while powered off, rebooted it. then went Configuration>System>Upgrade. the thing spat out what looked about 2 sentences on Chinese in red text on an orange background. likely a critical warning (this was not displayed in the help video). the thing restarted once, then again, to no brain for the past 24 hours I left it running
@davidconner-shover51

@@WildRoseBuilds yes, i copied off the files and reformatted the supplied drive, loaded the update to it plugged it in, cold started the whole machine and pressed update after boot up as described in the video. It then put out a line of chinese text in a box at the top of the screen, yellow on an orange background. After a while, it rebooted, the GUI behaved wonky as hell, I thought it might have been a bad update, so i pressed factory defaults, pressed yes when asked, it pretty much bricked right then Trying to get a replacement display/driver for it now

Sovol sent me a new firmware chip in the mail, Yay! Ok, I've done several benchies, and put it to work immediately cranking out small, useful parts for my day job (my company buys them) This being my first printer ever, there is a lot of trial and error, fine tuning and the like. My biggest complaint so far, is when a print wrecks and sticks to the extruder. there is no Z axis lift command anywhere I can find that doesn't require homing first. What if it won't home? I ran into that this morning, with half the print stuck to the extruder, no access to it without lifting it first. I tried to, but all I got was continuous grinding noises while the thing pressed itself into the build plate. power switch. I finally got it off on the next try by shutting off the power just as the print head hit the corner of the build plate position. had to re level the bed afterwards, it got tweaked

Not related to the video... Just thinking out load. For small scale production I think you need a pla printer for prototyping and a resin printer for making hi quality rigid positives for molds. Molds will give you both the speed of manufacturing and versatility of materials.

From reviews + owning sovol 07+ I would say neptune 4 pro i s top, sovol second and kobra 2 is a problematic garbage. Neptune 4 was unavailable when I was ordering so I went with 07 and It is awesome. Some minor upgrades (more in software than hardware) and quality and speed are outstanding. But I'm thinking about max size printer and will definitly go for Neptune 4 max.

@@CuttinInIdaho it's a giant race to the bottom for all of these companies right now. They're pumping out product faster than they can even finish testing their firmware and either bricking machines with field updates or having the machine go Skynet and try to shove the business end into places it really doesn't belong. Plus, they're installing a firmware that requires a hair more brain power and user intervention that people aren't used to, so there's been a ton of backlash due to the learning curve. I've got a slide in one of my videos that sums up the Klipper experience titled "klipper is not for teh dumbz" that I think is pretty on point.
