I disagree with your criticism of battlefront- the game did not fail because DICE and EA relented to demands that they not make battlefront a simple reskin of battlefield, it failed because DICE and EA did not make a game that played like battlefront 2. What people wanted from DICE's battlefront, and this was clearly expressed from the get-go, was a battlefront game that was at least comparable if not better than Battlefront 2; instead, EA and DICE obviously took it as an excuse to make a shitty, uninspired star wars game that had almost all the features from battlefront 2 completely stripped out. As you've already pointed out in your video the game plays like a children's game, with pretty graphics but shallow gameplay mechanics (basic point and shoot with almost no recoil and no bullet spread, compressed skill gap, etc). However, in battlefront 2 , yeah, you hardly had any recoil to deal with, but what you did have to deal with was the fact that you often had to lead your shots because the velocity of those lasers at mid-long ranges was slow as fuck compared to what you'd be used to with normal kinetic weapons; you also couldn't go full auto for very long because severe bullet spread would almost immediately kick in after you fired off a few shots, which made going full auto often impractical, you had to use burst fire. Also, in all honesty, although battlefront did not have ADS, the gameplay matched what battlefield has to offer in almost every way: large scale battles on fairly big maps with lots of players, lots of vehicles that can send people flying across the whole goddamn map (none of this stupid powerup bullshit and whatnot) Also, there's the issue with the amount of content. People were excited because many people who remembered battlefront 1 and battlefront 2 basically expected updated graphics and perhaps a few gameplay tweaks for the better- what they got instead was EA's bullshit DLC whoring and overdone graphics that did nothing to alleviate the oversimplification of the core gameplay mechanics from previous battlefront titles. No interesting story driven single player campaign (501st ftw), no fucking single player conquest campaign, no alternate game modes from battlefront 2 (WHERE THE FUCK IS HERO MODE AND HUNT MODE- oh, and there were way more heroes in battlefront 2), a pittance amount of maps (what was it, like, 4 upon release? wtf. FOR 60 BUCKS?!?!?!?) no fucking vehicles (what the shit, YOU GET THEM THROUGH POWERUPS?) and no goddamn space battles. I mean, EA basically stripped down battlefront 2 to its bare bones and updated its graphics to make the prettiest, most generic third person space shooter ever made.

You're right about "Don't ask for an easier game, pray to be a better player" I'm really happy with how flexible BF4 is, there are so many valid gameplay options. I fucking suck at shooting, yet I'm usually in top 3 for my team. That's because there are meaningful ways to earn big points without a high accuracy, like secondary gunner in a tank, LAV or attack chopper, or the massive objective capture bonus. The biggest one though is "assist counts as kill". My favourite setup is LMG + bipod, because while the spray and pray doesn't usually kill enemies it sure earns a fuckload of assist points if you're in a funnel zone where lots of enemies go

It's highly unlikely that BF1 will outsell CoD this year and there is one reason. CoD 4 Remastered. A LOT of those dislikes on the CoD trailer are coming from people who don't want to buy both Infinite Warfare JUST to get CoD 4 but guess what? They will. People have been begging for a CoD 4 remastered for AGES now and you'll be astonished at the amount of people that have buckled under and have decided to get CoD just for the remaster. So will BF1 outsell CoD this year? Probably not. But will BF1 have a larger playerbase than Infinite Warfare? Almost definitely.

Simple answer is no, it won't outsell cod. It won't kill off cod. Reason is simple, cod is too big of a franchise and in all of its past "terrible" futuristic titles, it has sold copies in the tens of millions, meanwhile Battlefield was only selling a measly fraction. In the business, there is no bad or good PR, there is only PR. And this flux of hate got a lot of people's attention. In the end, its us gamers being whiny pricks about our industry's practices despite doing nothing, is what'll give CoD the moola.

I want battlefield 4 in ww1 with Battlefronts visuals and sounds

The only thing I fear with Battlefield 1 is that they seem to be straying from their roots. Battlefield is known for these massive maps with objects ranging from A-G. From what I've been hearing they are striving to make it more of a twitch shooter. Almost like CoD. Focused heavily on not allowing the player to go 3 seconds with out a firefight with an enemy. Instead of focusing on making that player PTFO. It seems like they are trying to pander more, and more to the CoD community every year, and I for one do not, at all want that.

When we said we didn't want a battlefield reskin, we meant that we wanted the fast paced third person shooter combat to be preserved. We wanted a from the back TPS with combat rolls and high jumps, classes with stronger differentiation than in Battlefield, hero and alien classes, and a higher time to kill. The differences aren't that hard to spot. Battlefront played more like Halo 2 than Battlefield 2. If you played early Battlefield and Battlefront 1 and 2, you'd notice some key differences in the core gameplay. We wanted those differences to be preserved, that's all.

I'm not on the hype train, Battlefield is way too big of a game to hinge on a minute long footage of what might not even be actual gameplay, but very tightly constructed in engine footage all dolled up. there is a reason that trailer is the usual 30fps despite DICE already championing 60fps in previous titles- the entire thing is pre rendered. I am worried about depth, immersion, balance and even graphics, I can already see Battlefield 1 becoming incredibly gimped on both the consoles- which means a lot of players will play BF1 expecting it to look like the reveal trailer and it's very likely that it won't get there. and despite all the good work DICE did on stability after Battlefield 4's abysmal launch, I still cannot trust anyone at launch anymore.

As a CoD player who recently switched to battlefield I must say that I'm loving it. Every match feels different and unique and I'll often find myself just watching the pure carnage on the larger conquest maps. I love how when you start the game, you have absolutely no idea how to fly a chopper or pull off a tank kill using a jeep and C4, but over time you learn these things and it feels like you're accomplishing something. Actually supporting my team and feeling like I'm making a valuable contribution feels great and I'm supper excited for BF1

Can someone tell me why everyone think that Cod will be bad and Battlefield will be good? Before answer just think about some things: -In the last years cod made Bo 2 and 3 and advanced warfare. Bo 2 was the biggest hit in cod history and bo 3 was a game with an insane amout of content at launch (2 campaign, zombie +multi). -last 3 game from dice were Bf4 a agame that was terrible at launch at it became good after months. We also had battlefield hardline, a game that realy few people enjoyed and finally star wars... Now i can understand that NOW BF4 is a great game but if we consider the history behind the 2 series i have no reason to think BF1 will be amazing. It will look pretty but it will be good? I don't know.

Battlefield: made good games, made bad company 2 got a lot of popularity, bf4 had good results, messed up on hardline. One of my favorite things to do in an fps game was learning to snipe well in battlefield because it was really hard to do at first, I couldn't even snipe someone two feet in front of me when I started now I can snipe the pilot out of a jet from the ground after lots of practice
