Another great episode guys! I don’t think people understand how much pressure he was under at such a young age in an amateur era!!Also a fantastic player alongside Guscott for the glory years. Deserves a lot more respect today in my opinion considering he was part of Eddie’s set up pre World Cup. Total commitment to the cause. Hats off.

This is wonderful! 25 years ago, before I came to Japan, I was lucky enough to see an after dinner talk by Carling. At that time, he was not the most popular figure in the Celtic nations - because he more than most regenerated the English game. My view of the man was totally changed! An incredible motivator, amusing and interesting! This is a great episode gentlemen!

I always really rated Carling. Such an underrated player and with Guscott formed what was in my opinion, the greatest England Centre partnership. He was the only player who came out of that 95 WC semi against the All Blacks with any credit, he really led by example in that game.

I was 13, watching that, and it has stuck with my whole life. That performance he gave, when everybody else had given up and he simply refused to. It’s a metaphor for plenty in life, if you choose it to be. Has been for me at least 🤍

Always hated Will as an person but respected him as a player. I was wrong. A great player, great guy and a very impressive leader.

Met will at ‘Nam for the wales match this year, jolly bloke, very happy to have photos taken with my little boy. “He won’t know who I am”........”it’s not for him will”, laughter.

That 95 world Cup was the first time I'd heard of rugby. I watched lomu and was just in awe of him. I went straight to my local club and started playing. I'd would of loved to see lomu play in his prime

I found this so insightful. As a kid I loved Will and then heard/read things which confused my opinion. But watching this I realise he is so down to earth and self aware. It has been a pleasure to listen. You are a legend and have had a positive impact on so many people.

I played for Quins as a kid and remember Carling being a grumpy, rude tosser, But he comes across reasonably well in this interview. He Just never had any time for us academy kids.

I remember watching Will and Jeremy rip Ireland apart at Lansdowne Rd at my first ever International, great hearing from Will. Another great episode, nice to see Tin's back, keep up the great work!

Will carling was my favourite player(until Lomu turned up!) never understood why he wasn't universally liked. Interviews like this show what a decent and pleasant man he is. Can't guarantee he doesn't like Has, and rightly so!

Every country needs to get their domestic rugby fit for purpose if that means central contracts across all nations so be it ..both hemispheres need to be on same page . I think six Nations should look at Argentina joining based in Spain plus maybe boks..super rugby has cut the pumas and Japan and even the boks there's a chance to really strengthen the game .. necessity is mother of invention ...I know from a Welsh point of view our regions are not good enough so we need a reboot as much as anyone

Never thought I’d say this, but I missed Hask! Will is a much underrated player and way too self-effacing! Never forget him captaining the 93 Lions against a loss to Waikato when Gatland scored a try, when some notable Scots threw in the towel, but he stood tall during a period when he lost the test place to Scott Gibbs struggling for form. A lot of character there...like Will.

How can WC (that's unfortunate) look younger than MT? Prem rugby back in August and I can't wait! The quality of the games will be like watching an over 40s Vets tournament for the first few games but it all adds to the charm of the occasion.

Will Carling is a good guy, he takes the mickey out of himself, but he is right to be a winner you need arrogance you need to be the face take the flak give it back, as I was a wales fan it was bad losing to the his team but I admired him because and he was right about the old farts and he has admitted to about being over confident especially in 1990 against Scotland. He says a great story about England had not won in Cardiff for 27 years, they stayed in a frightfully nice hotel just inside wales, went to Cardiff arms park as it was then got stuffed came home, he said no we are going to stay in Cardiff walk to the game and embrace it what happened they won for first time in years in 1991. Good to see as well he admits his mistakes let’s face we have all made mistakes.

Ex-Rugby players taking up cycling in their droves..just caught the Dallaglio & Flintoff big ride doco on Eurosport thanks to the C19 Lockdown. Also enjoyed the WIll Greenwood Tour de Yorkshire programme, and of course Johnno is a keeno. Guess it’s kind to their ruined knees.

It’s half the show without Mike and it’s twice the show with Will there. I’m shit at maths but there’s something in that. Annoyed it didn’t go on another hour and there are too many name Will should have been asked about. Great show though.
