My goodness this brings back memories from the 50’s when I was a kid. Grandpa Musick was a Chevy guy and I remember riding with him in these early Chevys. He had a 51, a53 & a 56. Worked on his cars. Old school shade tree mechanic. Man I wish I was able to restore one. Thank y’all so much for your determination.

My first time watching. I had to see it run. My parents wanted to move from Philadelphia to the newly built suburban community of Levittown Pennsylvania in 1952...but there was no train service for Dad to get to his job at a bank. So his boss lent him $50 to buy a car... and it was a 50 Chevy. Sure looked like one. I only saw a picture because I wasn't born until 1954. I know it was green and white top, that body style, and Mom was preggers with me when she learned how to drive in it and took her driver's test.

In the end, I'm glad you couldn't get the trans to work with the rear tires up against the wheel chocks, looked like something bad was about to happen.
