Is the range accurate on a F150 lightning?
Will it actually go the full 320 miles estimated range?
Can I drive a full week if I have F150 lightning without charging?
How many miles will a Ford Lightning go without running out of battery?
What is regenerative breaking?
How does braking increase efficiency?
How far can a 2023 Ford Lightning drive on a single charge?
Have you ever wondered how to improve the range or even if you can improve the range of your EV?
Can you take a road trip in a F150 Ford Lightning?
Is one drive mode better than the other?
What is the difference between drive modes on a electric vehicle?
What is Sport Mode?
How to get better miles per kilowatt?
Which drive mode gets you the best range?
In this video we are discussing how you can use sport mode to increase the range that you can go on one charge, and that sport mode not one pedal driving is actually the best way to drive far on a single charge.
The 2023 Ford F150 Lightning Lariat trim is such an awesome truck. You can even take a road trip with confidence. If you leave it in sport mode, the regenerative braking will help extend the range whether you are driving in town or on a highway.

After three years of driving electric, the confidence of not running out of battery definitely has gone up for me, but one thing I suggest that most people do is pick a time and place where conditions are great and you’re not in a hurry and you have a back up plan Take the car past 0% battery a mile two miles whatever you want, but just do that. once you do that then you can personally feel confident you could do it a second time if you really ran into a tight spot. Experience and time have a way of helping alleviate many fears that people might have without going through that in person.

I’m only at 1:46 but the assumption that you can treat as a normal F150 with only charging at the end of the week is a bit false. Bc if something happens in your life that you need to emergently travel further than planned it is no problem with gas. I know in other respects you are correct but having just an electric battery this is a major downside. If it had the Volt or new Ram where it could run off gas for a range extender it would be different
@poobank
@poobank Ай бұрын
Just finished. Great job. That efficiency is great for such a big truck. I’m sure the lower mph limits helped on those back roads. For commuters who spend a lot of time on back roads with speed limits less than 55 they might be able to get 350 miles. To add to my comment above the beauty of the EV is that you can keep charged at you house to keep a cushion of charge in case of emergency
@F150LightningMike
@F150LightningMike Ай бұрын
Yes you are correct. If for some reason I needed to go further for an emergency as you are suggesting I would then I would just charge it that night instead of waiting till the end of the week. If I need to as well there are at least 5 fast charging stations in Colorado Springs and 1 in divide, a town near Woodland Park.

@@F150LightningMike true. @nathanbrumbaugh8545 29 күн бұрын
By charging to 90% or whatever you feel like is important for your possible emergencies every night it really alleviate a lot of anxiety as far as if an emergency would come up because you could go long ways on 90% charge even 80% charge and by the time that’s used up, you can figure out another plan or call somebody else to help you if it really came down to driving that many miles in case of an emergency However we all know emergencies are different. We can never really plan for everything no matter if it’s gas or electric so I think the pros definitely make it worthwhile to drive electric.
@nathanbrumbaugh8545
@nathanbrumbaugh8545 29 күн бұрын
I wonder how many people that haven’t driven electric vehicle very much , or at all realize how much quicker they are so that’s one of the pros in case of an emergency. They will perform better than every other vehicle on the road and not just buy a small margin I would choose an electric vehicle. Any chance I got if I had an emergency situation, and not worried as much about the range because for the most part, the range is sufficient anyway.

This was not interstate speeds. It was uphill and downhill from Woodland Park to Colorado Springs. The speed limit on Hwy 24 varies between 45-55.
