I usually do allow myself to eat so called ultra-processed foods a couple of times every week. I allways eat atleast 500grams of veggies and fruit (more veggies than fruit). I eat two cooked meals a day and sometimes this is 200grams of fried frozen veggies with chicken or a soy protein source wrapped in a durum wheat tortillia (and the tortillia is heavy processed I know). I try to eat some walnuts, a little bit of sun flowerseeds and a little bit of peanutbutter to get good fatty acids every day (and I know that there is a little bit much omega 6 and too high trace amounts of bad stuff in some brands of walnuts due to pollutants in the soil due to air and soil pollution so I stick to 20grams). Most of the time potatoes, pasta (processed) and rice is my go to carbs. Home cooked food is the way to go and loosing my discipline once or twice a week is no problem for me. I believe the problem is if you eat candy every other day. By the way I walk and ride my bike every week and go to the gym 5 days a week so I think im kindof healthy :)

Power structures and society as a whole would be completely different. Probably impossible to predict, even by people who are academics related to the possibility. Europe and later North America rose to power SPECIFICALLY because of their access to the ocean. It is imperative for military and economic development. That's why western Europe with lots of shoreline is so much better off through history than central or western europe. It is why Russia wants Krimea so badly (they have no year round ocean access to Europe and militarily strategic positions).

No, these other negative comments aren't _fully_ correct. Though it _is_ true that mentally, you will feel a lot better since you think your making the right choices. I can tell your also feeling a lot more energetic now, as the foods your currently eating are probably much more rich with nutrients then the junk food you were consuming regularly before. I see you've also become more productive because of this. I hope you continue to live this healthier lifestyle, and see more results in the near future.

So trust me when I say it feels amazing when u abandon all those cereals, granola bars, processed meat, etc. I buy organic foods from small farm markets and other shops. Pricey but worth it!

Remember to check you local legislation on food safety, some of these things are in fact regulated in many countries (certain additives aren't allowed, there's limits to how much of certain chemicals can be in a sample, of course they test for pathogens, etc.), regulations vary across countries and regions, for example the EU and iirc Russia have high standards, specially when choosing where to import from, on the other hand, the United States is famous for... well pretty much anything goes in the "land of the free"

Labyrinth9000 they didn't die because they ate natural foods. You should know that that is the average life expectancy as well. It is so small because it was dragged down by the high infant mortality in those days. If someone managed to become an adult, their life expectancy became much higher, but still lower than the one we have today. The difference between these is attributed to modern medicine, not to switching to processed foods.

Next you should do a video on the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide. More deaths occur from Dihydrogen Monoxide than all of the carcinogens listed in this video combined. This was your most poorly researched video to date. It's the dose that makes the poison, and the fact that some of these things are used industrially does not make them bad, it makes them safe, that's why they're commonly used. The 18% bacon risk is a relative risk, meaning that if your chance of getting colon cancer was 1% before, now it's 1.18%.

@miloradvlaovic
@miloradvlaovic 6 жыл бұрын
Good thing pop tarts don't exist where I am at lol. But seriously, the colouring agents in every margarine I've ever had were either 1) carotenoids or 2) curcumin. Both are actually quite healthy. The colouring agent in the coke (which I haven't had in almost a decade, so I might actually be wrong) was/is just common old caramel. So these examples of food dyes are neither artificial nor dangerous, hence they make very poor examples. Karmin red is a very common food dye, obtained from a rather unsavory source, and with potential health risks which were never researched properly. And that's just off the top of my head, there are far nastier ones. Like the blue dye you've mentioned in the video.

It is obviously not as bad if you look at average human lifespan over the years. People eat this stuff all day and still live 70-80 years. IMHO most problems are caused by obesity and too much calories in american food rather than by nitrates, phenols, etc.

Artificial or natural doesn’t matter. What matters is if a given chemical, at the dose you are getting, is significantly bad for you. The origin of the chemical is irrelevant: all instances of a given chemical are identical. And as mentioned, dose matters: for some things, in order to get enough of it to have a meaningful degradation to your health, you would have to ingest an impractically large amount of the food that it’s found in. For some things, you need a certain range of it - too little is bad, and so is too much (water is a great example; not enough or too much can both be immediately fatal - and I don’t mean just by drowning).

lelz - for the purposes of discussion stereoisomers may as well be different chemicals; as their arrangement of atoms is not the same. My point still stands: artificial chemicals and natural chemicals, if identical, are, well, identical. The Naturalist Fallacy is just that: a fallacy.

EU hsa stricter laws. A lot of food colourings un the EU are bannned because of their links to cancer but are allowed in the US. For a while fruit loops became really ugly looking, they must have found new, cheap colourings to replace the chemicals that were banned.
