Hello Vinyl Community! Come THRIFT WITH ME as we thrift shop for vinyl records. Vinyl Record collecting on a budget in 2022. I'm taking YOU into the stores shopping for records WITH ME. You won't believe the great albums I find at Thrift Stores, Antique Stores, Flea Markets, etc. You'll be right there as we scour the countryside looking for places to buy vintage vinyl records! You'll be there as I find cool records, or even if I don't. I'll show you how to find places to find vintage vinyl records. I'll show you what to look for. How to thrift for records like a pro. How to find cool used vinyl records for a fraction of the price. Much cheaper than Discogs. Secondhand stores can be a great place to find records for much cheaper than online.

Too bad about the mysterious missing albums at that first thrift I bet they tossed em! That Nuke headline was disturbing to say the least! I love how you said I’m not taking sides I’m an Anarchist! LoL! I agree with you about the news I can’t remember the last time I tuned into a news program. Probably back during CoVID when I needed to keep in touch with the current state when I was working as a CoVID testing nurse. I’m half way through this I’ll take a break while you wait for Mr All in My Way to move along! Peace ☮️✌️👽🤘☮️

Had been saving this one for a proper viewing. Had the dinner and a movie date with the wife last night, and this was our movie. It was more exciting than the mediocre Tex-Mex dinner. We feel your pain, but unhappy endings can make for good viewing. The hammer dulcimer solo was a nice bonus. Titus also thanks you for the shoutout.

32:20 Yes, Tuco, it was I who told you that Arthur Fiedler's 'Fiddle Faddle' record was pretty good featuring the music of American composer Leroy Anderson. It has some recognizable music and lot of upbeat, even humorous, instrumental compositions (like 'The Syncopated Clock' as heard on a game show many years ago, 'The Typewriter' as seen in a Jerry Lewis movie, etc). :)

@@VinylHunter I don't want to oversell the appeal of the album. I just happen to like the music of Leroy Anderson who had a very light, upbeat popular music style, so it may appeal to you or it may not. It's all a matter of choice and one's personal taste anyway. If you can scoop it up for a dollar or two or a lot less, it's worth it. I wouldn't pay more than two dollars for it, but I liked the album. :)

30:46 That's a great George Gershwin record with 'Rhapsody In Blue' and 'An American In Paris' conducted by Arthur Fiedler with the Boston Pops on RCA Living Stereo (LSC-2367) if one is into George Gershwin (and I am and I have that LP). It's also on the TAS List (TAS stands for The Absolute Sound online magazine which lists the best records for sound quality). :)

Just checking out the TAS list! Lots of great stuff on there! I haven't compared catalog numbers yet to see what ones i have and what ones to look out for!

@@VinylHunter Great! Yes, the TAS List is amazing and covers so many genres and talented artists, bands, composers, conductors, and orchestras. It used to be a purely classical music list, but I was glad to see it expanded to include jazz, soundtracks, folk, rock, pop, etc. and not only lists full albums, but 45's as well with popular hit songs.

Nice Dulcimer riff !! Love it !! Sweet Dave Clark Five Import Cd..Joe Tex is cool.. and Little Willie John wrote " I Need Your Love So Bad" that Peter Green and The Mac covered oh so well !!

39:15 That is a cool cover for that 'I Hear Music' album and I also collect the subgenre of record albums showing people holding or listening to records. They're also great for framing in a music room/media room.

Chilliwack was popular here in Detroit back in the '70s. Our most popular Top-40 station at the time, CKLW, was across the river in Windsor, Ontario. Canadian stations had to play a certain percentage of Canadian artists, and since Chilliwack was Canadian, they received some airplay. I have a couple of their albums. At 10 cents apiece, those CDs are worth buying just for the jewel cases.

Yeah! They're ALL gone??? They went in the trash probably!...after trying to get $2.50 each for them when they normally charge $1.50! The whole thing reaks!!! I can't let go though! I still keep going back and hoping they had just put them in the back room because they didn't have a proper way to display them on the sales floor. "Let It Go Tuco!!!"

I searched thrift stores for 40 years, and in the past 10 years (many in Omaha), I found it was diminishing returns. Out of every 20 places I've been, I'm lucky to find one piece of vinyl, and I got tired of it.

32:43 That Paul Mauriat (pronounced MORE-EE-AH) 'Blooming Hits' record has a very iconic 60's nude cheesecake cover and one of his best tunes, 'Love Is Blue', which he often put on his other records too.

Yes that's me on the hammered dulcimer. I don't "play" it per-se. If you asked me to play Mary Had A Little Lamb on it, I couldn't do it. I couldn't jam along with someone. But i CAN write my own stuff on it.

32:15 I would have picked up that Michel Legrand 'I Love Paris' LP since he was a jazz musician and composer. He composed film scores for such films as 'Ice Station Zebra' with Rock Hudson, 'Le Mans' with Steve McQueen, the original 'The Thomas Crown Affair' with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, etc. :)

Ahh, the saga! They most likely tossed the LPs in the dumpster because they didn't sell - I do that with the pure crap beat-up records and stiffs when I buy large lot/batches as is. Your consolation prize were the CDs! ...Hey, at least I could fast forward while that dude was looking at and buying up all the good LPs! That has also happened to me and it's annoying because they always take their fricking time! I try to peek and see what he's picking out! ... Until next time ...!?

Yeah it's a mystery! 200 or so records...ALL gone???? A lot of crap...a lot of average records (Sinatra etc) and only a few gems! They had just gotten them in on my first visit, so no reason to rush to throw them out! No one in their right mind would buy ALL of them! They were in great shape, so, no reason to throw them out without trying to sell them first! Dunno! The only thing i can think of is they had a ridiculously cheap sale?

@@VinylHunter Could be that they had a sale, did you ask somebody that works there? There is a thrift store near where i live and i may get the records they throw away (they get so much that they select what they want to sell). And quiet often they make a mistake so when i got their garbage bin last time (they throw them in there) i got an orginal "Iron Maiden - The Time Conquerors" in great condition. Don't know why they did throw that away but they have thrown CSNY - Deja Vu and Jimi Hendrix Experience - are you experienced also away before at this thrift store... Weird things happen at thrift stores

Yes, and it's never been reissued. Mine is a sealed copy of the only pressing of it. Truth & Janey's album No Rest For The Wicked is a well known proto-metal classic that's been reissued many times. And they've got a couple well known live albums.

I’m surprised you didn’t snag that Campus Happening Record at Goodwill with the kids head in a guillotine! Do you ever buy records just for the weird or fucked up covers? I buy toooo many for that reason haha. I saw a bunch I prob woulda grabbed. It’s a sickness!
