Part 3 of 3: When I finally throw the towel in on the 1956 Buick Special, I'm still 650 miles from home. So I did the right thing and bought a 1987 chevy k1500 (4x4) sight unseen to pull it the rest of the way home. Will this new to me old clapped out truck make it, or will I end up with two vehicles broken down? Watch and find out!

Man I've just finished a 15hour shift on a construction site in England. I'm away from my woman and children and sleeping in my camper. It's snowed for almost 24 hours straight. I'm worn out and tired and the end of this video just made me cry like a baby. Family is genuinely everything!! especially to a working man. I love you Derek. Your videos are a real treat for me after a long day when I'm not going home to the family. Thank you brother.

Im always curious, who actually dislikes these videos? Like its just a man driving cross country lol what is there to dislike? People are strange
@FonicsSuck
@FonicsSuck 3 жыл бұрын
I think I figured it out. Some people actually use the button for what I think might be its intended purpose, which would be to adjust their recommendations. Perhaps they watched the video and said "Its not bad but its not what I'm looking for" and hit the dislike button. That is about the only rationale I can think of beside people just being entirely too miserable.

Enjoy all of your videos but this one really hit home for me. My dad passed in 2004 also. I have his first car, a 1938 Plymouth. I am finally in a place to start restoring it. It's hard to do with a family but I do what I can when I can. Feels like he's there with me when I work on the ol' girl, probably laughing at me as I fumble around. So happy that you found your dad's car and you brought her back home where she belongs. This was truly touching, thank you for sharing your experience with us.

I'd like to start by saying, I really enjoy watching your videos, sir. Entertaining and informative. Plus, you honestly seem like you are enjoying what you do. And you seem like just an all around good person. Now, that said, I am jealous of you and envy you. Why jealous? Well, I lost my father in 1992 when I was 10, the memories you spoke of so fondly, I don't have, I have a few, but not that many. So, I envy you for having all the years and memories with your father. I've been an mechanic for going on 30 years now, really enjoy seeing all the vehicles you put back on the road. Especially, 70's Ford pick-ups. I am a bit bias on them as I have the 74 F-100 my father used to drive. Anyway, I feel like I have made a fool of myself and am rambling now. Y'all take care.

I am very sorry for your loss of your dad. He lived only 52 years but he did pass on a lot of his knowledge to you as we all can see. I am happy you have found that Buick and I know you will be keeping it in your family and passing it down to your sons too. I am just sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. Keep up the good work and please video fixing up that truck you are selling to your brother and the Buick too. Thank you.

You really got me at the end, only recently found your videos and love your style, maybe not, but the way you are honest, clearly don't have a bottomless pit of money, maybe you do, butyou don't rub it in peoples faces and you seem really genuine and this was truly heartfelt. Firstly I got to say this is the best road trip you have taken us on, I love the story of the car and its meaning to you and it's awesome you have her back where she belongs. During the episode you mentioned returning the car to its original paint job, and on seeing the photos of the car at the end I truly hope you did decide to return her to yellow. I may be a year late and a dollar short but better late than never. Greetings from Ireland

When you started driving that Buick home, you reminded me of my own optimism. I once bought a '55 Studebaker , flew to Los Angeles, and hopped in to drive it home to Wyoming. The old flathead six seemed to be running great, right up to the point where it threw a rod and puked it's innards all over the highway! When I opened the hood, there was a four-inch long chunk of camshaft laying on the fenderwell dripping oil. you could reach into the crankcase through the huge hole in the block! She rode home on a trailer too, but at least I enjoyed watching that lovely Studebaker front end in my rearview mirror all the way home! When I stopped to pick up a couple hitchhikers on the Navajo reservation, I realized only one could ride in the truck with me, so the second guy hopped in the Studebaker and rode on the trailer with her! He loved the experience - couldn't have been happier!
