What is it with Whitesox infielders getting embarrassed in week 1 of August? Fun fact: On 8/5/1993 (30 years and 1 day to the date of this incident) 26 y/o White Sox third baseman Robin Ventura decided to charge the mound after being plunked by 46 y/o future HOFer Nolan Ryan. Ryan put him in a headlock and proceeded to punch him 6 times in the head. Totally embarrassed Ventura just like Anderson. Later voted as the best baseball brawl of all time by ESPN Sports Center…somebody should’ve told Anderson this before he tried Ramirez.

Tim Anderson has a career OPS+ of 101...that means he's 1 percent better than league average. he's not "very good" and never has been. he has an OPS+ of 60 this season which means he's 40 worse than league average. Anderson had his eyes open and missed all the punches he took. So, who's better off??

@@NatTurnerswitBurnerz I understand your thought process.. but what does a person gain from throwing a head down eyes closed swinging in the dark punch besides the obvious. I'm sure nobody would fear that rematch

@@bigtoelilfoot1199mental spatial mapping and coordination you dork. The punch path had some kind of docked direction and Anderson isn’t getting taken down if the synergy of the transfer of power isn’t aptly timed up to connect

To bring up Nate Robinson is wild just bc of size difference. Weight class doesn’t matter in those celebrity matches especially when it 1st started… Paul really owes Nate tbh

Well because of social media, folks will always remember him getting dropped, but if he balls out on the field and put up star level numbers, he won’t be DEFINED by getting knocked out in a 1 on 1.

Good point because even the great Mariano Rivera, gave up the winning run in the 7th game of a World Series (vs Arizona Diamonbacks) and yet he came back to win championships and become the all time MLB saves leader (652). Mariano's legacy will never be defined by his only WS loss.

Jose Bautista was a way better player than Anderson and people only think of 2 things when they think of Bautista the Homer against the Rangers and then getting clocked by Odor. Anderson doesn't have any significant playoff moments. Getting knocked on his ass is his legacy now.

Gotta be more fair to Nate Rob! Just because the fight and KO are viral and on autocomplete doesn't mean people don't recognize his other accomplishments (and the age differential between two 'non' fighters)!

I remember back in the 1960's Willie Mays picked a guy up he was fighting with and body slammed him to the ground at 2nd base. I wonder if that is on you tube?
