In Crystal, Lance USES hyper beam on a person, and it’s like “oh crap he dead” but no, in Pokémon Masters you can talk to that same guy, and although he DOES have ptsd from it, he’s still alive and actually a black belt, so didn’t end up with any lasting injuries.
