Is electrical engineering for you? You might think so, but the reality is the electrical engineering career path is not for everyone. There are 3 key indicators which determine whether a student will succeed in electrical engineering.
From being an electrical engineering student, to working as an electrical engineering professor, I was able to spot those patterns and I discuss them in this video.

I’m 30 years old, currently active duty in the United States Army, and starting my EE Bachelor’s Degree. I was torn between Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, however with more in-depth research I decided to go with Electrical Engineering due to the many sub-fields within this field of study. Thank you for all the videos you make and you are one of the few people that helped me decide on my career path! Keep doing what you’re doing! 👏💯

This is actually a great video. It explains a lot. In my case it was different though. I was always considered someone, who learns a lot because he is interested in the stuff he is learning, but actually I just learnt a lot, because of the fear of havong bad grades. However, I think this eventually has to do a lot with the german educational system. After all we have" sudden death exams" in this country.

Thank you! I can imagine in germany the emphasis on exams and theoratical knowledge must be brutal, but thats the sad reality of most schools haha. Glad you still had a motivator to learn though!

You and me have one thing in common. My paper got rejected too and that was in front of 1000 people. I still haven't gotten over it though. But the good thing is that it destroyed my ego to bits.

Hey man I’ve been looking into doing my first RF/microwave related project, with a basic junior level understanding of transmission lines, circuit and Fourier analysis and instrumentation techniques. Could you recommend some ideas, or a place where I can find ideas? I have access to expensive tools like ADS, VNAs, oscilloscopes and generators while in school and want to utilize it to develop real skills as I currently don’t qualify for internships in the RF field.

Hey, Ali, i’m a student at Mohawk Valley College and they have an ABET program for electrical engineering technology to make a 2 year switch into a University (SUNY Polytechnics interestingly enough where the professor you mentioned teaches Electrical Engineers). Can you ask him if I were to take the two year program; (1) If the switch from EET to EE/CPE is possible with this ABET program, (2) What is a sufficient GPA to make the switch into pure Electrical Engineering from EET

I would contact him directly with this question, perhaps through e-mail -- www.sunypoly.edu/faculty-and-staff/arjun-singh.html

Your degree , phd, and post doc fellows are worthless. People like Elon Musk only have a bachelors. PhD and post doc are only a vehicle to employment if you aren't a Elon Musk, and others etc. It is something that you rely on to ask for a job from someone. That is all it is. It doesn't mean anything if you don't have any accomplishments than just obtaining a PhD, attended some brand name post doc institution like MIT or NASA, in the end , what have you done and accomplish? What did you do? What have you came up with and is it impactful? If you have none of these, you just did it for the sake of the titles and that is what your life was about.
