My staffy ( harley) was in our live for almost 13 years. He passed away last month. And man i miss him so much. He was such a great dog. I wanted a big dog in a small body and he was. Always happy and full of live. Out and about, full on playing. In the house a big baby, cuddles up on the sofa and had naps with me on the bed. Its such a miss understood breeth. They are so loving, kind and happy go lucky dogs. But it all starts with the owner. Treat your dog well and you have a true friend as long as they live.

I’ve had many dogs in my life, but my staffy Dea was the most caring, special and loving creature, and I was fortunate enough to have her with me for 14 years. I had to put her to sleep almost a month ago after a devastating epileptic attack, my heart is shattered into pieces, I miss her terribly.

I had a staffy my son brought home from the Bronx where he worked. He saw it chained to a pole outside a body shop for days when he decided to take it home. Tabu was a handful having never been treated fairly but it didn't take long before she was sleeping with me and generally attaching herself to me and me to her. Unfortunately she had a brain disorder (can't remember what it was called) that caused her to lose muscle coordination. She originally was very athletic and an aggressive player. We had so much fun with a rope playing and biting and hanging onto and twisting her little body all around. After a couple of years she needed wheels to help as her hind legs were very uncoordinated. Her condition was untreatable and progressive but we were determined to give her the best life we could. Unfortunately she developed lymphoma. We tried everything (thousands of $) but she had to be mercifully put to sleep after about 3 months with the disease. I cried like a baby before, during and after and, in fact, am getting emotional writing this. I hope to have another staffy soon as I am now retired and surely can spend all the time it requires to provide the best home I can for the next little monster to come along

My staffy mix learned to lie down in one evening! He’s a rescue, so he hadn’t been trained completely, but I’ve never known a dog who picked up things as quickly as he does. He’s very aware of the words I use, and knows that “I’m going up” is code for “bedtime” (his very favorite, because he sleeps in our bed!)

Great video. We just put our 14 year old Staffy down, Luna (Wimaru's Look'N Up) after putting her 12 1/2 year old daughter down, Astra Star (Teradon's Astra Star) 2 weeks ago. We're crying now all the time. Of course we'll get some Staffy pup's soon. My buddy Cosmo (CH Claymores Black Watch) passed 6 years ago. There's no better breed for being your friend in the whole world. They are such a joy we only had the 1 litter because you just can't bear to let the pup's go. Crying now.

@@willathertonstaffyshow6068 As a hard working unpaid Priest, I have often been asked to bury peoples dogs for them which, as a dog lover with a Staffy I am glad to do. Aww, love his Staffy talks.. I have one and was feeling a bit overwhelmed by his energy. I got him as a Rescue at 14 months and he is all described here but I live in a small place. Anyway I lent my dog to my brother for a couple of weeks to see if he suited his lifestyle better with an eye to moving him on because I thought I was not coping. Well, the dog had too much energy for him and I miss my dog like hell lol. What I didn't realise that because I have had him 9 months we had got to know each other and I know how to tire him out without it killing me lol. Upshot is it makes me realise what I have got which is a wonderful, bright, loving, loyal dog. Only hope I haven't hurt the bond too much not seeing him for two weeks :(

I was brought up around Staffys by my nana and grandad. Sweetest dogs ever! The first was a girl and she just thought she was a their little girl. Loved people and dogs and made friends with two lassey-type dogs when she was older. Their second was a rescue and he was indifferent around strangers but not mean, just reclusive at times. However was such a happy pupper around his family.

My dog Raj Mahal - "Raj" was adopted at about 10 months of age from the neighborhood from a bail bonds woman who took him as bail and offered it to us as we walked by. She found out we have a GSD and a stable home for him... Raj's daddy went away. We didn't even know if he was or wasn't a pitbull or a Staffy- I do think he's a Staffy because he is matching the height and weight. He's so beautiful- maple and white - half and half over his eyes- his coat is so cool. I'm sure he cost a lot and was this person's pride and joy. I feel like he was the best gift I've ever gotten. Only issue is he is scandalous about stealing food! It's constant! He is so funny and a total cuddlebug- he zeroes in on kids as sheer magic to him. He has a very soft mouth and has never inadvertently bitten me (he once caught a possum that weighed about half as much as him, retrieved and brought it to me without harming the possum whatsoever!). He is definitely not aggressive with other dogs though I know he would not allow harm from anyone, human or animal. I've had dogs all my life but I have a special bond with this puppy- every moment together he is such wonderful company with such a joyful disposition- from the moment he wakes up. He and our GSD are BFFs. I absolutely adore every minute our family has together with Raj-ee. Fan of this breed for life.

Great Video! My boy is turning 2 end of this month, best dog ever! He is with me more or less 24/7 and gets to meet lots of people, dogs, cats... absolutly loves kids. I dont belive they are agressive by nature, unfortunatly Malte has been attacked 7 times by other dogs all different breeds and sizes but he still loves making new friends when we are on the road working. If they were agressive by nature surely Malte should be a monster towards other dogs efter all heś been thrue.

@Tainshey113
@Tainshey113 3 жыл бұрын
@@maliya7337 amazing, one of them has no regard for any other dog to be honest she only has one focus when she is at the park and that is her ball 😂 but if another dog comes up to her she will say hello, the other is the most happy go lucky dog she will run and play with other dogs for hours if I was to let her. If you have never had one I would personally go for a female first as they are a little easier to train. The key with these dogs is early socialisation and consistent leadership with the instructions and commands you give them. They have to be exercised well, if you do these 3 things you can’t go wrong!

I had a staffy while growing up, she was like a little 4 legged mum to me. Smart I wouldn't say, every staffy I've met has been a total lovable tool, and a blunt one at that! But their squeaky silly barks, huge grins and always wanting love and cuddles and huge amounts of drama made them my favourite. One thing I've noticed is they do get far more defensive when with people they think need their protection. If you are big and tough and stuff in their eyes they do calm down a lot when out because they arent worried about you or themselves as much. My fiances staffy is very defensive of her when they are alone but when I'm with them she is much more sociable, because I protect them from scary things like other dogs, people, fireworks, leaves, wind, all the scary things that could possibly scare a staffy.

Hi everyone. I'm a single female currently living by myself in a 3-bedroom apartment (with two spacious balconies) in Sydney, Australia. My apartment is within a short walking distance to the beach. I work from home full-time and since it's a desk job, I make sure to go for at least an hour walk daily (usually just circling around said beach) to get some activity in my system lol (unless it's raining, in which case, I resort to using my treadmill). So I can easily include walking my dog in this "fitness" routine should I get one. Anyway, I used to dogsit our neighbors' 9-year-old red ENGLISH one, named Jack, when I was living with my parents and that's how I fell in love with this breed. But that was in a house. Though Jack couldn't care less about our backyard, it seems. He just followed me around the house and actually didn't want to go to the backyard because no one was there lol. Now my question. Will an apartment suit this breed? Ever since I moved out and started living on my own, I've been so lonely and so I've been thinking about getting a dog (I'm looking for two flatmates as well because I do have two other bedrooms but my ideal companion is a dog sooo). And the first breed that came to mind is this particular one, because of my experience with Jack. He never barks, isn't hyper and didn't seem to be interested in going outside a lot. I thought for someone who works from home and only have an apartment, this dog breed is perfect. But of course, I could be wrong. So please help? Apart from Jack, I have no other experience with this breed. And as I said, I only have an apartment, not a house with a backyard. As much as I want this breed, if my place isn't suitable for it, I won't get one because they deserve better. I'd settle for a more suitable breed even if it's not my first preference. Thank you for your help!

Staffies & co. are not for first time dogowners - yes and no. Before we chose to have our first pittie, i got myself proper information and litriture about this and related breeds. Read it from page 1 to the very last. Then thought about pros and cons, considering every aspect of a life with a dog like this. We came to the conclusion a pittie or similar dog would fit perfectly into the family. We never regretted this choice. Their character and behavior makes them perfect family members - when raised and trained properly, which counts for every dog ( or other animal ). You just gotta love these goofy clowns! :)

I really like staffies but I am concerned about the size of my house, would staffies need a big house?

No, they shouldn’t. They could even live in apartments! Just make sure that they are exercised. Hope this helps!

Yeah you would be totally fine, we live in a flat that is quite spacious and have done for years. If we let them out for the toilet frequently and walk them a couple times per day along with Playing with toys in the house, this is more than enough to keep them content. They love chasing tennis balls too! Just make sure they are exercised and get to experience as much of the outside world as possible - Their happiness begins and ends with you so don’t lack and get lazy with them and they will be the best companions you could ever dream of having.

Hey Nolan, thanks for watching and reaching out! It's really hard to gage behaviour problems based on a description alone but one of our videos on our other channel might be helpful: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z9aHfa-ryprVXas.html However, if you have a serious behaviour problem, we would recommend looking into a local trainer that will be able to meet you in person and and see the behaviour and give advice.

How are Staffies when let us say we pass away and they go to a new home. Do they adept are there certain things the new family should do to help the Staffie transition to there new family. I'm an older gentleman of 70 and if I pass would wish my future Staffie to have a good forever new home.

Staffies can adapt really well to new kind loving responsible owners. If you can make plans about who would be willing (really willing, not just saying so to make you feel better) to look after your dog if needed. Would be helpful if you could get the dog /person or family used to each other. Can be really helpful if you have to go into hospital for short periods too. Also if it is needed in the future and your dog moves to new home can be helpful for dog to take some items that smell of you as they can find this reassuring to transition. But also helpful if he has to be away from you for short periods. If u have no plans on a future home for your dog then speak to your vet or maybe breed specific rescue center for their advice on rehoming your dog in future. Great that u r thinking about the future welfare of your dog but hopefully it will not be necessary. Best wishes to you and your dog. Xx

The same applies to shelter pets, I would assume?? There is an overabundance of Staffies in the local animal shelter, here. I have previously rejected them, immediately. Now, though, I may gv them another look, because of the information you're presenting, regarding the breed. Thank you.

@@c.richard6638 Staffies can make great family pets pls don't discount them on breed alone. I would suggest you speak to a responsible shelter that knows their dogs and individual temperaments and needs to ensure you are a good match. Generally they love people and need to be house dogs with good periods of exercise, attention and positive training methods. A good staffie is the most loving and enthusiastic of dogs! When you've been "kissed" by a staffie you really know you've been "kissed" LOL

If you are thinking of getting 1 be careful taking them swimming paddling in rivers etc there not the best at swimming but they do love a water fight in the shallower streams you can't find a more loyal breed (just my opinion from owning them) good video 👍

As someone that declare he is expert in the breed, you are missing some of the facts. Their nature is as is, affectionate with people and children, because they were used in dog fighting. They were mostly owned by hard working people which had to keep them in their home with their children, so all human aggression traits were bred out of them and dogs that showed human aggression were not used to breed next generations. Today I'm not so sure that breeders are put attention on that and avoid breeding such dogs.
