Decided to go ahead and make a little guide on how to beat Sephiroth. There are some good videos like this already, but I had a few extra things to add. Sorry for my mic cutting out at the beginning there I was just saying that diamond dust is a better keyblade so use that if you have it. It's a bit hard to explain phase 3 but getting in the habit of rolling every time you hit the counter makes it much easier.

Will,it's honestly amazing how you talk through this like it's just any average Friday,like call me shit at this game but last time I checked I hadn't even beaten Clayton on Level 1 Proud,yet your amazing self beat Sephiroth like it was Selphie on Destiny Islands

I know this video isnt exactly new but i just recently started level 1 and sephiroth is my last boss before ive beaten everything. This guide has been really helpful as ive made it to the first octoslash (and promptly spaghettied it and died lol)

Thanks for this tutorial man even though I am still having trouble with phase 3 I manage to get the deparation move dodge down which helps with saving resources so again thanks.

Coming to this now, he’s the last thing in my level 1 run to beat. I did literally everything else including ultima weapon. He’s just a pain

Fun fact, there is a way to get Goofy to also be level one. At the very beginning the second time you ever fight a heartless before killing anything you can run to the other side of the platform and equip exp zero. That with “start at the dead of night” will have goofy also level one.

Pro tip in terms of trying to fight sephiroth on proud. If sephi one hits u, put on zero exp, u take 3 hits to die U get no xp for the fight but the xp is very easy to grind back

Hey will this helped me a lot with phases 1 and 2 but im having a ton of trouble on phase 3 I just cant seem to hit him at all. When I do attempt to attack after his spin he just counters or doesnt stagger and before i can do much he kills me Got any addtional advice?

Do you have any alternate phase 2 strategies? I can't get the loop going I feel like I'm just having to run in circles until the next heartless angel.

You may not need this answer anymore, but someone else might. The most likely answer is he used an AP Up. If you want to avoid stat boosting items, the Cosmic Arts is a synthesis item that increases both MP and AP by 2.

the ps2 version for some reason is far more aggressive than the new ports, he seems to teleport more often and casts that firewall after every other combo

Doing this at 49 have 3 times ur hp and one basic slash 9ne shot me how do u take 3 hits to die? I can see his hp bar and im using ur strats. It takes me like 7 combos for one bar. I'm so confused.

I believe that using exp zero makes your damage go up and make you take less damage, I'm not positive though since I haven't used it before

how the FUCK is that fire pillar move only doing so little to you? im lvl 47(proud mode) and it brings me to 1 hp every time, then the 2nd hit kills me. Teach me your ways.

Because of the hidden properties of exp zero in this game. Try equipping it for this fight and see an increase in damage + being able to take extra hits

His Octaslash is BS, that’s 15 slashes not 8 But I swear my epic games version is broken, all he uses is hell fire There’s no way I can even get a 4 hit arial off cuz he uses 2 & sometimes 3 in a row Not even strike raid saves me cuz if I use it when he’s mid hell fire then he just uses a nether hell fire Was able to mitigate his Octaslash with strike raid but I can only seam to 3 hit combos in without taking damage or else I get stuck in a hell fire I even got it set to 30FPS but that invulnerability frame off the second hell fire hit is way to unreliable on my version of this game 😩if I ever play kingdom hearts 1.5 or 2.5 again I’m a make sure it’s on a P4 or 5 cuz this is honestly BS I swear I look at one of your videos every time I’m stuck on a part Will & even his Octaslash is BS, he starts practically mid air and I could jump over the first slash before when I was using my brother P4 but not anymore on my PC I have to use strike raid to survive it & even with 3 elixirs & Diamond dust giving me 3 MP with both the 2 MP accessories equip I run outta MP before I can even get him down to phase 3 And that’s not even taking his hell fire spamming to an extent I’ve never before seen in this game into consideration Did you use stat boost by any chance, I had my file cleared with no strength or defence boost put in but I might honestly just make a bunch of str boost to stack up the damage so I can at least get him done, him and no heart are the only bosses I’ve never beat lv1

Finally beat him for the first time ever😮‍💨 Idk wtf is wrong with the Epic Games version but apparently my AI is broken cuz more often then not he doesn’t teleport away after the 4 hit combo & he uses a hellfire instead Would’ve been beat so much sooner if his counter RNG wasn’t FN me & I couldn’t even use the 4 hit strat on his last phrase cuz he would always do anything else but a heartless angel or spiral slash But I found a way to loop him with two 3 hit combos then dodging outta there after any 1 next attack & if he used Hellfire or a slash I might get enough dodge roll distance to avoid damage Made respect on the Strategy thou Will, at the least I was able to midigate his Octoslash with just dodging & that practically gave me a free turn of damage or time to heal

Yeah octoslash is weird. Before patches jt was broken on ps4. Maybe that’s the same but I don’t know anything about that version. Still not a perfectly designed fight but can be done consistently with enough practice

@@WillJV2 honestly thanks to your guide, I was able to finally beat him & I appreciate the feedback but just know I always look up one of your videos when I’m stuck on a Kingdom boss Next to SonicSilverShadow you are legit the best player of this game I’ve ever seen😁
