It's so nice to see that Warwick Davis is in this. The movie Willow will always be a favorite of mine. It was fun, adventurous, and had a great story. I hope this story honors the legacy.

I was excited too, and thank god this looks nothing like the original. It’s fresh, it’s 2020s. It’s diverse, but not diverse enough. All that horrible cloying “atmosphere” crap has been removed. There’s a focus here on something fresh, more like Game or Thrones and Princess Bride, but cleaner. Thankfully toxic white Madmartigan types aren’t in this.

We're annoyed that things we loved as children are being brought back from the past by people with no talent only to be "updated" to modern woke standards - thus tainting the original product. We're left with 2 choices - ignore the new product and try to remember them for what they were or watch the new product and tainting our memories of the original. Maybe Willow will be good, but the track record of what's been done to Star Wars, Star Trek, The Muppets, Dark Crystal, Lord of the Rings, etc., has many of us rolling our eyes at the obvious play for nostalgia that will likely have less to do with the original property than it does with modern politics.

What is wrong with the Dark Crystal? It seemed to be well received? (I'm talking about the Netflix show.) And Lord of the Rings? Star Trek? Star Wars isn't perfect but they've had some good new projects. Also, beware the lens if nostalgia. It's just a pair of rose-colored glasses to make you believe the past was perfect (or close to) and nothing new can ever compare so we shouldn't even try. Very rooted in psychology.

Sadly, Val Kilmer isn't in much of a state to do much, if any, acting. Throat cancer robbed him of his voice and treatments of any cancer cause a lot of damage to the body. I briefly met him once at a convention. He was doing as well as he could, but it was a far cry from how he once was physically.

Agreed. I remember seeing some trailers years ago that used the music from Willow because the actual music for the movie wasn't ready. I was like, "Hey! That's Willow. I know that music anywhere. Don't try to pass it off as music for some other movie."

Go watch the old movie Krull. It came out about five years before Willow, absolutely a so bad its great type of movie. But Horner did the music, and you can clearly hear a lot of the themes he would later use in Willow. The movie itself is not nearly as good as Willow, but its still a lot of fun.

Krull the movie I find unwatchable, but the score by Horner I listen to every once in a while. Especially the opening and closing credits and the love theme. It's another one of Horner's pure magic soundtracks.

The Lucasfilm logo at the beginning gave me goosebumps. It made me think, what if Disney turned Lucasfilm into the Sci-fi/Fantasy studio it deserves to be. Put someone who knows the Sci-fi/Fantasy genre inside and out in charge. And then we could get some really fun and fantastical movies and TV shows. And Lucasfilm has plenty of existing IP, but if we had someone with some serious nerd cred running the show we could even see new Sci-Fi/Fantasy IP being made. That's what I'd love to see!

considering it got all the og actors except maybe val im sure it gonna be a great show disney hitting outa the ballpark with all their stuff few hit and misses but overall their stuff has been grade a.

This trailer got me even more excited for this than I was before, because of how faithful it looks to the original. And not just to the story, but importantly, to the tone and the spirit of the original. We just don't get fun, whimsical, adventurous, feel-good movies as often as we did when the original Willow came out, and it feels awesome to see that classic style of fun film-making come back in a time where many shows (and reboots) prefer to be dark and gritty.

OH YES, Willow, Legend ( Cruise was sooo young) Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, and don't forget The Last Unicorn. Will miss Val, he was sooo great in Willow, and in everything else he did, too. ( I'm your Huckleberry)

With Val Kilmer having the voice box to talk now, I think they could still have him in it. Just have him as a King somewhere, receiving a wound to the throat, and unable to speak. He received a gift from Willow, a crystal ball that speaks his thoughts when he wants to, but the spell only allows the voice of the caster to be heard, so everything Madmartigan says comes out in Willow's voice. (hehe)

@@segun78 Yeah, I was super surprised to see that looks to be the case. I know he's been dealt a rough hand with the cancer and tracheotomy. Too bad he's not in the same shape as Top Gun peer Tom Cruise. I'm just glad the makers of this understand his importance to the IP and its fans.
