@@svtkilr Yeah, when I was a teen at the local Ymca in 99-2000 there was some old equipment still there, one was the metal plate with adjustable rope/strap connected you hung around your neck, the metal plate went across your upper abs and out to keep elbows from moving back. I never pushed my biceps as much as back, chest and triceps but I recall I could rep 110lb straight barbell or get 5-6 reps at 60lb dumbbells. My best bench was 245x10.

The WR was 251lbs, so 165lbs is a huge weight. It's relatively similar to how the WR for deadlift is 1105lbs but most normal people won't be able to deadlift 405lbs. People underestimate how heavy 165lbs in a curl is. 82.5lbs per arm, to be able to do this strict, you need to be able to curl 100lbs per hand normal.

165LB is a bit of a large jump from 115Lb. That's a 43% jump in weight. 135Lb would have been much more reasonable and still a very hard challenge. Most reasonably in shape men can do 115Lb but 165 would take very specific training for this lift. That or out weighing the weight by at least double.

I have been training for 14 years and can barely curl 63-65kg @90kg bw on a good day and I always considered my biceps one of my strongest muscles, so 75kg is really impressive to achieve in my eyes
@patricklee8789

It is absolutely crazy. 165lbs is something for specifically trained strict curl athletes or you weigh in at least 100lbs more than what you trying to curl.

curl strength is definitely one of the weirdest/hardest to train. I'm not surprised at the results at all. I did 115 at 14 at 160 lbs now at 22 and 220lbs my curl is now only 155. Yet I've added at least 200lbs to all my compound lifts

bicep is a small muscle compared to a lot of other muscles. and even then 155 is impressive.
@michaelangelo5783
@michaelangelo5783 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the biceps are tiny muscles on a hinge joint, very isolated. I bet the average gym rats biceps only weigh a pound each or less...impressive they can curl 50+x their weight.
