Welcome again after a longer break.
During walking around Łódź's city centre (Śródmieście Discrict) I came across a tenement house, and a really interesting find there.
Already from the outside, the dark wooden door with a rather narrow pane, with a longitudinal plywood insert next to it (although it's hard to tell, if it's an original element). The cab itself is also made of dark wood. Another interesting visual element are the bends (?) in the ceiling, which give the illusion that the cabin is slightly higher. Poor lighting giving semi-darkness creates an amazing atmosphere.
It seems that elevator was lightly renovated in the 60s / 70s, probably by ZUD (or KDO ZREMB). This can be proved by non-original lighting (almost identical to ZUD floor-weight elevators) as well as buttons and instructions.
For its age, this one works properly (there are quite frequent, various noises). It's possible to find much better maintained pre-war elevators in Łódź, both technically and visually without problems. Similarly, the staircase itself looks quite dingy and neglected (although it gives it a unique atmosphere). Nevertheless, in my opinion, it's one of the most interesting in this area, worth attention.
Elevator discovered and documented together with "Mr Pindrach" user (another elevators documentalist).
