I was in Maupiti in 1992, surfed through the pass in a big swell, barely made it, engine couldn't do it, threw up more sail and made it over the edge. When we looked up once we made it through, there were people on shore cheering us through, it was the scariest thing that I have ever done

So love that fact that your dingy is a sailboat! Learned to sail on one of those. Grew up on a great lake to learn to sail on and thought I would be retired and doing costal cruising, however, wife hates small boats! So, I will sail vicariously through you now that I found you! Be well and be Safe!!

Hi Holly! Huahine was our first trip to the South Pacific! We spent two weeks there at a pension before returning to Burlington VT in April 1985 (Brrrr). We later traveled to both Cook Islands and Fiji. We dove the Great Astrolabe Reef off Kadavu. Soft coral is amazing! I hope you get to dive it. Be safe, and have fun!

Hey Holly! Enjoyed your video (as I do all of them) very much. Due to health issues I'm not able to sail any more and your videos allow me to live that life vicariously once again. For years I sailed a 40' Hunter but had to sell her due to mounting medical bills. Fair winds and following seas to you. Stay safe. Love you much! 💖💖💖

Dear Dear Holly, Your passage thoughts touch home, that safe comfortable place when boat, weather, and mind run in synchronous with the wave train and we have a space and a bit of time to ourselves in this wonderful place available for pleasant introspection. Nestled in the cockpit sole, sky for a roof, and a cracker. Thanks for sharing and helping me to remember and touch again my own sea memories. You capture it well in your videos, Cheers! Marty

The thoughts are called 'free association' - one of my favorite things. However here on land it typically takes a float tank or some solid meditation to get it done. At least for me.

Hi Holly, When you attached the payee to the post for the lee cloth it would have been better to attach it to the side 180 degree so that there would be no way it would ever pull out the screws. You would then attach a loop of rope to attach the lee cloth line. Cheers André in Sydney. I hope you get to see our wonderful Great Barrier Reef, Lord How Islands etc.

Just one suggestion - mechanical things and especially engines don't like to sit they like to run, so you should start the diesel on some regular schedule and let it get up to temperature even if you're not using it. Maybe just every couple weeks or even once per month. Otherwise you may run in to a nasty surprise when you really need it to start. Good luck!
