Watch a windmill in high winds and learn how it controls the wheel speed

The physics behind furling is centered around angular momentum and precession. Acting as a gyroscope, the rotating mass will cause itself to move around or '"precess" about its center of rotation. Since that center is offset from the center of axel rotation, the entire wheel as well as everything in between roates with it, and in the case of a rotating turbine, it "walks away" causing its plane of rotation to no longer be perpendicular to the wind flow. When this happens, the turbine, being no longer powered by air flowing properly across its compression vanes (blades), loses rottional speed, slows down and spring tension realignes it (the plane of rotation) perpendicular to the wind once again. This walking away action is called "yaw". It should be noted that the vane or tail rotation relative to the turbine's yaw field is independent and limited by a stop (to prevent it colliding with the turbine) and another stop causing it to return to a position perpendicular to the turbine - all points in between controlled by spring tendion and angular momentum.

Do you have a video of what is going on below the wind mill, the shaft, and how you get water up, and where the water go once it’s pumped up. Thank you for your video.

Clever invention from 1880's. I understand why tail spring (for direction/speed control), and buffer spring (to prevent slamming) but what are these rods left of the tail used for - some kind of brake? Why there's no buffer springs on both sides of tail (because the wind can rapidly change in both directions)?

Also this gear going up and down between vertical guides (transferring rotation into linear move) it is sliding only on one guide while scraping another one.
