Three beautiful people! Mel was absolutely gorgeous in this film...he lost the love of his life & even the Princess couldn't give him the same feelings, she was smitten with him..he wasn't, he was devastated and hurt still over loosing his only love..and died knowing he could be with her as well...this music captures this more than any other piece of music heard in a film....

Eh I dont know about that. William clearly wanted to live on, find another love, and build a family....while no one would take the place of Muron I think William did have feelings for Isabelle (certainly an attraction), and under other circumstances, if at all possible, he probably would have chosen to move on with her...its not fir nothing that upon their first meeting he remarks that she reminds him of Muron.

@@Karen-dk1ec It's from the film, when the Mel Gibson character was about to be executed, the Princess (Sophie Marceau) begged him to plead for mercy to the evil king, or to take poison and thus end his pain. He refused. She said, sobbing, "But if you die, it'll be horrible". He then said this line. I watched this about 20 years ago but still remember it so clearly ....
