This video is all about wine etiquette and common mistakes you could be making.
It begins with the first tip which describes that you should pick a wine for a party based on what your guests would enjoy most. You should pick a simpler, sweet wine if your guests are beginners in the wine world. Or you should pick a more complex wine if your guests are more wine experts.
The second tip describes that you should open a bottle of wine quietly. You should not hear a loud "pop" when you open a bottle of wine. This is not the right etiquette for opening a bottle of wine at a party.
The third tip recommends that you hold the wine bottle by the base and that you pour the wine slowly. This allows the wine to aerate more and is a classier way to pour a glass of wine.
The fourth tip is proper wine etiquette is to only fill each wine glass so it is half full. You DON'T want to fill a wine glass all the way full. Filling a glass halfway full allows room in the glass to better smell your wine.
The fifth tip is that you want to pour the same amount of wine for each guest and you want to drink a similar amount of wine as your guests. You DON'T want to be the drunkest at your own party.
Tip six recommends that you pour a second glass of wine for your guests prior to pouring yourself a second glass. This is only polite when you have guests at your wine party.
Tip seven states that you want to hold your wine glass by the stem. Holding the glass by the bowl can warm your wine and make it taste weird. It's also a lot classier to hold your wine glass by the stem.
Last, tip eight is to touch wine glasses by the bowls of the wine glasses when toasting. You don't want to hit the rims of the wine glasses at your party, especially if they're crystal, because they're more likely to break.
And those are our top tips for etiquette at a wine party! What are your favorite tips? Let us know in the comments below!
