Winter Camping - Bushcraft Shelter Build with my Girlfriend - Lean-to Shelter, Campfire Steaks, etc

Sarah and I head out into the Canadian backcountry to an old campsite of mine to do some winter camping. I film our time in the bush as we set up a wood framed lean-to shelter with a bough bed, cook some nice steaks over the fire at night, enjoy some hot chocolate, and more of our trip in the bush.

So ive went back and watched 6 yr old video's of yrs building that shelter where ya whipped that bowsaw out into the trees somewhere 😅 then showed up with boreal 21 which is an awsome saw btw , maybe go back and read my comments ive left on those clips 🤔 lol anyways all the best to ya Nick , you have good content and you've come along way since then and still now , keep on keeping on ...🫡👍👍

good job 👍you went basically prepared and did not take bad risks maybe should of gathered more firewood ( didn't see it on film ) I have a rule of thumb after you feel you have enough wood tinder and kindling gather again 2 times ie. 3 times total very good idea to carry rifle good idea you got fire started first good set up of camp ( for temperatures.) but would not. stand up in colder situation ( -20 or -30 C ) but should not be in the woods in these temperatures anyway if it is colder then -10C stay home ( only safe place )

Watching you two makes me miss scouts. Though, we were never this "off the grid" but about as you can get when you're in charge of 13 to 18 year olds that may or may not have alergies and the like that'd turn into an emergency. It was great though. I love your videos, very cool and informative.

Maybe it was Emerald Ash trees , seems to be a big crisis here in Canada with those bugs/ beatles that arrived from .... We have it here in Ontario anyway that killed off many a tree 🌳 🇨🇦
