Head to rdr.wargaming.... to start playing World of Tanks for free. New users get a free premium M22 Locust tank.
I bring my wife out on a trip she demanded I take her on..okay, not really, but still. We go winter camping in a hot tent (canvas tent) in Northern Ontario in 5 feet of snow. We set up dig out the snow right to the bottom before putting up the snowtrekker canvas tent, set up the wood stove, collect firewood and spend the night camping out in the winter on our camp cots in comfort.
We'll show you how to camp in the wilderness in the winter, which sleeping bags to use for winter camping, which camp cots to use and how to set up a wood stove in a canvas hot tent. I'll boil and purify snow for water, cook on the wood stove and cut up a lot of firewood to stay warm on this overnight trip. Later in the video we will share some of our previous adventures together where we rang in the new year way back in the year 2000.
Merch (t-shirts): teespring.com/...
Cutting boards by Adam Craig: www.inthestick...
On our camping trip, we cook hot dogs right on the wood stove, and show us how we pack in condiments.
I'll show you how to melt and then drink snow we collect right outside of the tent.
Sometimes you need to bring some of the comforts of home if you expect that a girl will spend the night with you in the woods. So a couple fully loaded sleds come along with us including a snowtrekker hot tent, two sweet Adventurer cots by Teton Sports and some other basic supplies like sleeping mats and sleeping bags more.
We will catch and cook fresh fish! We heat out tent with wood we gather and cut on sight.
We are tenting in Northern Ontario on a lake that is stocked every other year with splake.
The model featured in this video is the "Adventure Cot."

*If you can, please let the video run out in full, it really helps KZfaq decide if it should promote it to everyone else or dump it! If you stick around, Courtney and I will share some stories about how we used to camp way back 20 years ago, with pictures!!!* See you next week for more stuff at the cabin!

Great video you'll have to do it again with Courtney and let her eat some rabbit after she traps it. 21 years and she did not know you do not eat ketchup on a dog that is funny.. Courtney keep me in mind. I'm single if your sister decides he's not the right MAN.

I've looked for a KZfaq community and there's not much...where would I FIND A BADASS BUSHCRAFT DUDE (like U)👍 let me add that this is my favorite outdoors channel and I very much appreciate your commentary on self improvement/help. Your advice about finding the right girl was spot on. My first wife went motorcycle riding with me every chance we got while dating. I met her in an arcade playing pinball and video games. All of the things that I loved to do. After we got married, she never wanted to do anything together anymore. One day after a solo bike ride, she gave me the bike goes or I go ultimatum. I walked out the door, got on my bike, and went riding while she packed her stuff. 40 years have gone by, and if someone asks me what her name was, I have to ask the love of my life, and mother of my kids. For some reason she can remember the name of someone I was married to for less than a year.

Great relationship advice. It’s hard to entice someone that isn’t outdoor oriented to learn to love the outdoors. But if they love YOU and you can convey your passion in a way that will interest them and make it somewhat comfortable, they can learn to enjoy your passion as well. Very good point and great content as usual, Chris. Thanks

Chris, I really enjoy watching your videos, especially the cabin build, and when Courtney is along it gets even better, she is adorable and such a trooper, hang on to her she is a keeper. It is cool to watch and even learn some new things about the outdoors and how to trap and collect your food supplies, as much as I know I still find things I didn't know, or improvements on how I have done things. I am a Marine, so I know a few things about survival, and I am well equipped to fend for my family if I have to. I was also fortunate enough to have a step father that was able to teach me about the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and survival. What you said about having a partner that is willing to take part in your passions/way of life ect. is so true, but it holds true for both genders. I love being outdoors, and my wife also enjoys spending time with me when I am outside she is 10 years older than me and can't do what she used to but like Courtney she is more than willing to do what she can. To Courtney, Girl, I give you an A+++ for going alone with Chris on some of his journeys, and even more +++++ for at least trying to eat some of the things he hands you, even I'm not that hard core, lol. I enjoy watching you laugh and giggle, and some of the faces you make, OMG so adorable. Anyway, here is a personal shout out to you Dear, YOU also have a Fan, :) Christ yes a series on roughing it in the cabin would be a good thing, kinda like what someone might face in an emergency. Oh btw, a bit of cheese cloth weighs nothing, and takes up no space, it is great as a table cloth and filtering water.

I remember y2k, I filled up 2 five gallon gas cans “just in case” and made a big pot of clam chowder. 1999 was the year I spent stocking up on dry goods such as wheat and beans and bought a hand crank grain mill. Which I’d like to suggest as something for you to have for your cabin survival series as far as food supplies to have on hand. Store wheat berries instead of flour and a grain mill. You can do more with whole wheat berries than you can with just flour. You can cook the whole berries like rice, grind it into flour for breads, crack it in a grinder for porridge, sprout it, etc. stored properly wheat can keep for 30+ years.

So making an igloo requires a certain kind of snow, usually a rather dry trick snow that can be sawed into bricks. When we were in the Scouts as a kid we tried a few times to make them instead of using a tent with mixed results. (Usually we ended up with a tent anyways) Since it was kinda sloppy weather when they were out there it probably would have been rather uncomfortable at times. And who wants to have an uncomfortable wife, "Happy Wife, Happy Life" :)

The search continues! Until then I camp alone or with a friend. I enjoyed the impromptu video and the banter is nice to watch. You too seem to get along great. Thanks for putting the effort in and showing your wife a good time. And I’m glad she stuck it out and was a real trooper! Better yet I’ve always thought about moving to Canada. I love the outdoors and you guys have tons of it up there. Keep up the good work! I stay until the end of the video. I liked the Y2K stories! Courtney, you are a camp girl, it was so nice to see your input. You work well with Chris and I enjoyed every moment. Chris, I think you should involve Courtney in more of your videos. Keep up the good work and thank you.

You got a good woman there, Chris...not because she does the camping thing WITH you (although I think the vast majority of your viewers enjoy when she does come along), but because of the mutual respect you have for one another, and for one another's passions. Really enjoyable video!! Kudos to Courtney for laughing MOST of the time, anyway!!

you are hundred percent correct on your outdoor girl theory. My wife fishes, she won't hunt because she doesn't want to kill animals. But she will help drag deer, help butcher, etc. We used to camp when our kids were small, Now days, camping to her is Holiday Inn Express. Wife never ever says, I cannot do things. She likes her comfort. We had a family camp in Northern Pennsylvania with a two hole outhouse, and a wood burner. The camp was cold and drafty. Wife wanted to go for new years eve. We did, next morning she had our bags packed to head home, had something to do with the FROST on the INSIDE WALLS

I have seen you and Courtney in another video where you built a shelter but didn’t stay the night =reference, and there’s a word that was circling around my head and you just mentioned that word = trust, Courtney trusts you wholeheartedly Chris, well done you.

My partner had never been camping in her 45years before we met, but I introduced her to canvas about 6months into our relationship and she loves coming out with me now, she misses her electric items eg hair straighteners and such like, but with my disabilities we don't tend to do winter camping

Your wife looked like she was having a rough time standing up in the beginning! She's very silly 😂 most angles she was struggling or falling down. Very relaxing video. Awesome job man

Yep finally a real camping trip at the drop of a hat with hotdogs on the menu! Clever way of storing the condiments too. Courtney describing the bread as ghetto buns had me in stitches! Caught me off guard with that one. My wife used to love camping with me for some 31 years we had together. Eventually we will camp together again in Heaven though. Camping is work isn't it? So having a wife that rolls with you like Courtney is a true blessing and gift from god for sure! Loved the video and adventure outing gave me some real laughs! You two are very cool folks from the great white north!
