We are excited for the budget build series. We have enjoyed watching the last 2 series with the Aussies The Explorer Life. As for the diesel heater we've been running a all in one 5k like you have for 2 seasons. We personally found the flexable 16ft hose to put off way to much smell. No matter how much we used it. We have gone back to the traditional pipes and added the 75mm couplers. Did a few videos on it resently. Everyone is on this slinky hose kick. We don't miss the burning plastic smell one bit!! So far, for me, I have not experienced any odors from the hose, but I do see how it could pose as an issue: it does get fairly warm/hot when the heater is running. I do wonder if it might have been a specific type of hose that caused the smell. Safe travels and cheers!

Totally agree, product to product can vary. Such as the couplers I mentioned. We just got some more and the off gasses where awful. Had to remove them so Teresa wouldn't end up with a migraine. 🙂

Great video! I have my tank (5 gallons) is above the heater and never had that issue, however, and not blaming the heater- when I would turn down the frequency it would soot up in a couple of uses, so I keep it at 100% and have never had another issue, crack a window or the door if it gets to warm.

Thanks for the heads up, I do keep it at mid level or higher on the power, and it seems to be getting the job done 👍. Now switching out the 1 gallon tank for a 5 gallon one is very tempting…

Congratulations! I just got back from the Northern section of the Olympics, south of Beaver. Decided to climb up a FS road and man was it wet. Slid sideways a couple of times and like you guys had to cut my way in and back out, plus ended up on the hook with traction boards! I've got a 21 Tacoma Offroad LB like Nates with a Leer custom Alum canopy. I set up additional rain tarps to temper the noise. However, the amount of rainfall was crazy. I got in too late, so I found a suitable semi level spot free of a heavy tree canopy. Even at that the wind picked up Wed night and the rain was coming at me sideways. What a blast! Made it through the night sleeping with one eye open! It's ironic that you guys were over here while I was, last year I was down at Hurricane while Nate was up in Moab, then I think I had just missed running into Nate & Max Powel at Tuhuya! I'll keep my eyes peeled and hopefully I'll have the pleasure of meeting you. You run with some good company and I enjoy your adventures.

Edward, I wouldn’t go as far as to say things have been very wet. It’s just that we have had such abnormally dry winters the last few years we got spoiled.

I want to ask, have you changed the front and back gears? I have a 2023 Rebel 4x4, and I have an overland build on my truck. I get about 9 miles per gallon. It's because I couldn't regear the front and back ring and pinion. Currently, I have 3.92 gears, but I want to change them to 4.88. Do you know where to get those gears, or can you explain what I can do to improve my mileage?

E01 is a voltage error. E08 is fuel error. The controller reads a lower than actual voltage and will shut it down.

Yeah that’s what I understood that error to be as well, but filling up the tank cleared the code, oddly enough . I even bought a thicker gauge wire and was planning to shorten the length of the power cable , but didn’t have to resort to that (yet)

It’s hard to pick up on camera, but the amount of snow on that section of the trail was substantial. Even with all four shovels, it would’ve taken at least half a day. I needed to get home to help with the newborn , and the detour route saved a ton of time

Hey brother, now that you've been rolling with this crew for a while and have seen the different types of tools they tote around, which battery operated chainsaw would you recommend - i.e., best bang for the buck?

I’ve seen a few people opt for the dewalt electric chainsaws, and that’s what I have as well. I haven’t heard about the performance/reliability of the other electric chainsaws, but I think the dewalt delivers .

That's crazy, some people love the rain or some people hate it. I'm on the other half: not a fan of it at all. Everything is wet, muddy, messy.....no thank you!
