A very tough walk in sporting winter conditions. Probably one of the toughest adventures I've done in a while. Starting at Loch Morlich and heading into the mountains via the Lairig Ghru.

Mountaineering Scotland - www.mountainee...
What will the weather and conditions be like? Plan your route and check the mountain weather and avalanche forecasts in advance
Have you got the right clothing and equipment for winter? Be prepared for snow, ice and very cold temperatures - pack appropriate outdoor winter clothing, footwear and equipment and take plenty to eat and drink
Is your intended route suitable for your experience and fitness level, and that of anyone you're going with? Make sure you have the right winter skills and experience for what you are planning to do
Do you have a number of options or are you set on one route or plan? Know your limits and be prepared to alter your plans if the weather or conditions change
Have you told someone else where you are going? Let someone know where you are going, what you intend to do and what time you will be back
Do you know when and how to call for help? In an emergency call 999 or 112 and ask for Police, and then Mountain Rescue

What a gorgeous film. Loved it. So we'll put together. And better still, a winter adventure. Loved it....just beautiful up there. Nice to see someone wearing Salewa boots. Seems a secret how good they are for the price 😎. . . . Not been in Scotland for a winter mountain for years. You've inspired me to get back.

Excellent wee adventure and superbly filmed - impressed you got shots approaching the camera without footprints. Reminded me of a winter weekend trip out to the shelter from Linn of Dee over 20 years ago. My feet and shins didn’t thank me in plastic boots 🥾 Thanks far sharing.

Hi Andy, yeah we’ve not been able to get out quite as much. Very frustrating! The landscape in those conditions was outrageously stunning, but fierce at times. It was nice to be out and challenged. Thank you for following our wee adventures… 😃🙏

Good to see you out and about again Dave, a shame Lisa had to work. That was a long walk in from Loch Morlich. Did you not fancy going from Whitewell? Tough conditions too... I think I'd have had my snowshoes on. The wee shelter looks in reasonable nick though..any issues? Hope to see you both out again soon. All the best, Ian and Meg 🙋‍♂🐶

Hi Ian, the Whitewell would probably have been nicer. I’d planned to go from the Sugar bowl but the gates were closed. Would have been tough either way i suspect. The shelter is in good condition. The only wee issue was that some snow was getting in from the back left side. (Wind direction). Thank you for watching Ian and Meg. 😁👍

Yeh its a tough one mate, I came in from Linn of Dee side one time to devils point and had to turn back as my snow shoe strap snapped. tried walking for 2-3 hours without it and it was horrendous. I improvised and used my belt to strap it to my boot and then took me hours to get back to the car park........its a place where you have to be on your game as very tough conditions under food in the winter!!!! another great video though and its always the tough adventures you remember the most.......to the next one mucker!!!! 👊💪

Hey G, I actually needed some sort of beasting to get me out of my lethargy. Legs were thrashed because of falling between huge hidden boulders! Lol 😂 Be careful for what you wish for Dave! All good though. 😃🙏

Hi Buddy, no footage of the deep snow dive lol .. to busy trying to survive 😂 The scenery was really spectacular on this trip it has to be said. 😀👍 Yeah had two other guys in with me. They were trying to do some winter climbing routes but I don’t think the snow conditions were the best for them. Nice lads though.
