one question about this seneye monitor?? do i have to turn my computer on all the time to run this monitor? or just turn the belkin on all the time ? thank you very much....
@shardinio12 жыл бұрын
@jameskcwang I have not had a chance to start using this properly as i am still in the build stage but i believe you will just need the belkin on connected to the router. I will report back when i have it fully running

Hi, just come across the Seneye. Really interested in buying the setup for my aquarium. Now my laptop is in a different room, what do I need for the whole setup ?
@shardinio11 жыл бұрын
no it reads direct from the tank but you have to change the trips monthly

@rcmaniajato exactly! USB Items only though
@shardinio12 жыл бұрын
@carper1325 It takes multiple readings a day which can be viewed on a web page from anywhere! You just have to replace the strip reader once a month

The Belkin Home Base is no longer available, so if anyone is looking to do this now you need to buy an IOGEAR GUWIP204 4 port USB Sharing Station. I set mine up this weekend and it works great. Cost me £20 of Ebay, used.

I have read that the belkin will only work with Windows xp or vista. Is that right?
@Unna19698 жыл бұрын
+Abi Cooper No, you can run if off Win7x32/64 and higher. I personally use it on 2 Win8x64 machines. I still use version 1.0.0 of the Belkin software that came along with it. The trick is using the driver that comes from Silex, use their Sxuptp.inf file. Use google Belkin Home Base F5L049, Silex, Sxuptp.inf.

I dont see the light meter as its in my sump. The radions seem pretty good but still early days with them. Very pricy lights though! I would love to fully recommend them but due to my lack of experience in this hobby and that these are my first aquarium lights I am not the best critic!

i have mine plugged into my wireless router but it doesn't recognize it. i guess my only option is to pay the $300 for their overpriced SMS wireless connector? It's shady on their part bc they're already getting $17 off every person for the monthly slide cost. Seney, you *** ****, you get 👎👎
@LordyG5 жыл бұрын
I know this is an old vid and comment but it really is a shame what they have done, I used to run mine using this hub and it worked fine, now it's nerfed so they can sell their overpriced sws module. Proper dick move seneye

Don't bother, you pay £100 for the device, then you have to pay £40 to unlock the light meter. I just got mine, I'm disappointed to say the least. It's a money pit, £45 for a 6 month supply of slides, the slides last 30 days, one of those days is lost due to how long it takes to soak. I'm gutted with it due to the fact I've already paid £100 for the device, then I'll have to fork out £40 to get access to other features. The app gives you basic information, it redirects to a webpage to view stats over time. I think it's a rip off and the development lifecycle was shabby. You have to pay extra for the power adapter instead of getting one supplied. I'm shocked at how much they're charging for everything. It isn't worth the money, look elsewhere. The suction cup is difficult to attach to cable. The web interface is under developed, they make it look better than it is, it isn't being maintained. The rezisizing of the widgets doesnt work very well if at all. The updates of the parameters is not real time. I'm a developer and this interface is really bad. It's way over priced and more money has gone into advertising it than developing it. Looking back, I'd go with an open source linux alternative such as a raspberry pi, for the price of just the dongle you'd get more for your money.
