To measure you can do it on multiple tanks, but if you're using it as a sensor to monitor, you can only do it per tank.

Great video (as always). So, here we are 4ish years later. Are you still using the device? I was considering picking one up for my tank but wanted to know if the constant monitoring of parameters was worth the investment. Thanks!

All my tanks are empty now as I'm prepping them for a restart but I was using it for a year or so after because I had months worth of chips. It works great. The problem is for me is that I stopped using it because I can simply just figure out where my tanks are at just by looking at and working with them. When I need a reading, I just use a test. It's just, for me, much simplier than lugging my Laptop out and keeping up with replaceing chips. So it ended up being a Light meter reader for me but even for that I haven't used it in a couple of years now. IF I were to keep it easy, I would get the sensor AND webserver and hook it up that way. And I would probably just do it on an important tank. For example, in the future, my 120g Discus tank. But I would get a new one as I still use the old one as a light meter. But it looks like there's a light meter upgrade now for antoher $60 for the home or pond version of the product. I'll have to do a new video about that.

Hi, Still watching, but does this meter accurately measure PAR *outside* of water? I'm interested in this Seneye Reef (and new Seneye Spectra) for use in indoor gardening - getting PAR maps/layout for the growing area footprint. Would you be able to do a test outside of water or something possibly? Thanks very much.

According to SenEye it's not accurate out of water. I've never tried though.

Thanks. :) I'm now looking for the smallest device (like an apogee display/meter) I can find to run windows on for the software. I'm not buying a $400 laptop for this, lol. Any suggestions? Windows 7 Phablet, is that a thing?

Good deal! You can actually get a cheap small non-name brand tablet for around $100. Just look at if you can plug in a USB or a converter to a mini-USB.

First! Verry nice but i dont think the normal fishkeeper needs this unless you are breeding rare fish or koi for profit. Nice to have for the travling fishkeeper to keep an eye on youre parameters but not a must have. Awsome video sir thanks. Happy fishkeeping

Most people use it as a par meter for reef tanks.

Great video! We bought tis for the par meter and cant seem to get this to work. I have a computer right next to tank do I really dont think I need to pay xtra for the wifi or webserver or whatever its called..so confusing for someone who dosnt use a cell for anything other than phone calls! For some reason its not recognizing the slide! The replace slide light is on when there is a slide in there. We didn't soak it figuring it will get wet anyway and in 4 8 hours it should give an acurate reading. Do I have to soak it first? Also, would I get text alerts if I dont buy the extra wifi and just use my pc next to tank? So far its not taking any reading at all not even temp! Apreciate any help or advice you can give me! New subscriber here!

I'm not completely sure. It's better if you contact them for support. I know you have to register the slide. You should soak it to get more accurate reading regardless. You'll still get text alerts if you're just using the PC as that's all controlled by their cloud software. The wifi module just allows you to connect to their cloud without the need for a PC.

I've bough one of these about 4 months ago in November, and I was exited about this having heard about them for years, but sadly not impressed. It seems to be ok at monitoring temperature (although I needed to 'trim' the setting as it was out by 1.3 degrees Celsius when compared with a water ice 0 degree calibration) and its ok at alerting low water level and the PAR meter seems consistent, however after months of emails to support and 4 slides later, it STILL isn't reading PH accurately or ammonia or anything else! I know it isn't accurate and I'm doing independent tests, I must say I'm very disappointed and Seneye wont send me a replacement until I return this one, yet they wouldn't give me a date when I would receive a replacement so my tank would be un monitored, which I'm really disappointed with. I'm thinking of an APEX ir something else that may be more reliable.

I am pretty sure we got the sides to work and readings but could nevr get par meter to work, Do you have any idea what that would be. Ifs a reef version. Have you ever been able to get them to contact you?

weird, I wonder how accurate it is, seams like all the other monitoring devices out there need to be calibrated and replaced periodically. How accurate has it been in your experience?

It's been accurate enough to gauge whether the light is workable for what I'm doing for the tank.

That's just a power adapter. It just powers the monitor so you can see the icons light up if there's a warning. To log the stats, you still need to plug into the PC and take a current reading of the tank and upload it to the seneye cloud. But that's all the power adapter does, power the monitor. You don't even need that. Just use the one that came with your phone or something.
