hi guys! here's my final project video for #TheStripeyChallenge! there might be another coming with some talk on how I made the dress. it's of course imperfect - the back closure is not amazing, the hat turned out too big, and the bodice is slighly higher than the original. alas, it was made with love

Seeing the dress vs the picture is giving me a shock. I thought "oh, what a weird looking dress, boring, why would anyone want to wear this" but seeing it in motion it is actually breath taking. The lines on the photo made it look so stiff and structured but on video the lines turn into waves and shapes, it is gorgeous! Amazing work. I definitely have relearned my lesson of not judging a book by its cover or rather judging a dress by an image. Also amazing filmography

Why nobody's talking about how perfect her accent sounds?

I was expecting some kind of joke or something but this was really beautiful and cinematic and oddly emotional??? Like I'm really invested in Emilie's story and so sad that she never got the credit she deserved???

I've never really taken an interest in dress designing, but I've now gone and read about an influential designer and artist I would not have otherwise known existed. Thank you for bringing her (back) to life.

There is so much interwoven in this video! Each aspect - historic basis, storyline, cinematography, narration, acting & costume were absolutely captivating. I'm not always fond of anachronistic drama setting vs soundtrack music selection, but your choice gave me an emotionally viceral reaction. Brava!
