Watching this in tears 😢 in 2023 ... I was born and raised in Annapolis, MD ... grew up watching him😢.

I've always said it many times, and I'll say it again... Baltimore and WJZ are just not the same without Al Sanders. RIP Albert... and Godspeed.

I cried all the way through that video. Al Sanders was the man.

I can't even imagine how hard it was for them to get through this broadcast. So sudden...Al had literally just died minutes before this and they had to do this broadcast while keeping their emotions in check. We still miss you Al.

I don’t think I was home for the noon newscast but I certainly came home to the coverage. I was very young and we watched WJZ quite often.

On this Friday when Al passed away it truly was the end of an era. As you said, Only1JZ, Al is irreplaceable and Baltimore as well as WJZ hasn't been the same 27 years since that fateful day. When I was younger, I watched Al, Denise and Bob but after Al's passing it never really felt right anymore. Thanks again for sharing this. Don was right about one thing, Al Sanders is in some great company alongside longtime friend and partner Jerry Turner, Wylie Daniels and Randy Blair. R.I.P Al, We love and miss you terribly.

Hard to believe Al Sanders has been gone 29 years this May 5th!!--May 5th 2008 was also the day I moved to 3022 E.Monument St.
