As far as the speed, id say it's just about right for the type of track its designed for. You can go harder of course, but it seems about right to learn on, then buy the upgrade parts and go from there. Im so glad wltoys finally made a 10th scale.

Great advice on the price comparison between the AE buggy and the WL toys! It would be perfect to start out at the track. Then decide if you want to buy a $1000 race buggy. Thanks for keeping it real guy's 💯

I rarely find brushed systems do more than 2S. Most likely over heated the motor from the extra voltage which probably damaged the coils. Hence why it was fast at first and greatly slowed later.

Brushed is better low end track torque not top end. That's why they're still used in crawlers with loads of turns for that grunt work

It was the brushes in the motor you were smelling. That'll happen to most brushed motors if you run them over 8.4v... it's normal, just burns out the cheap motor faster 😁 great video though, can't wait till mine comes in

It's most likely the diode that smells like its burning, cause it probably is, and when it blows the esc will experience excessive reverse current. On the 18 and 19 they use a 1.5KE10CA which is rated for only 8.55v. The minimum you need to do to run these cars even semi reliably on 3s is to devise some form of cooling for that diode.

We can’t wait to see some footage from NZ!! Great video you two. Should of taken the wing off to see if it’s causing to much drag. Granted not the fastest. I know the feeling from playing with the Mojave and the udr ir the sbr 2.0. When I went back to a stock 550 slash I was like wait that’s all it has 😂. I always thought it was so much faster then what it was. She will be brushless soon which will help then time to play with gearing and temps. I just switch a rally st to brushless an it’s a blast. What is the max temperature for a motor speed running you say is ok? I’m just starting out speeding running with this car and have a 7800kv motor I’m about to install and some mod1 gears . If you could let me know the top temperature for esc and motor you’d think I’d on that be awesome

The WLTOYS 1/10th has been delayed from Banggood so who knows when I will get it. I’ve just placed an order for a Traxxas Hoss to add another manufacturer to the channel. I have a TRX4 Sport that I love to bits so I’m hoping the Hoss is the same.

@@TheRcKiwis Hi, Things have calmed down in the UK now so many people have had the COVID vaccine. Shops are open again finally but pubs and restaurants are still closed. I really want to get the Lasernut after seeing your review vid. I just received the ZDRacing DBX-10 and I liked that style more than I expected. One issue we have in the UK is release dates from the US companies is always months after the US release, which makes it harder to get hold of the latest cars for content. Great to see all your hard work paying off and you have made some fantastic progress with the channel. To the moon as Kevin T would say.

Not a bad R/C for the price. Throw the stock electronics away, lol . keep the brushless and Esc upgrade in. You will Probably get 80 kilometers, or more. There's a few guy that have this thing going 130+ kilometers. Idk how long the suspension will hold up going crazy fast haha

The reason why the buggy is kind of slow is because they are trying to make it professionally track ready like the Losi mini-B buggy they race it at my track STOCK or you CAN'T race

From what you showed esc seems fine with 3s...not sure how many minutes you ran...but from 30 at start to 40 degrees seems very good... also not sure what temps are there also...but seems fine...this car seems to be geared a bit lower than 144001 which also makes esc work less... thanks for sharing

Great video. What would you suggest for city bashing? Currently have a redcat blackout xbe pro but would like something like the lasernut U4 caught my eye. The front end would be better since it has no bumper to get in the way of a curb jump.
