It is amazing to me that these WNBA veterans aren't willing to acknowledge the impact that Caitlin Clark has made on the game. Suddenly, women's basketball has the interest of the general sports fan many of whom have never even watched a WNBA game. She is going to bring millions of fans and millions of dollars to a game that nobody wanted to watch. I can't wait to see her destroy these old ladies with her passing and court vision. She not only averaged 32 points a game over a four year career while being double and triple teamed every game, she averaged over nine assists a game, and led the Hawkeyes in the NCAA's to some of their best finishes ever. She can shoot 40% from outside the three point line and, is capable of driving to the hoop. Double team her and she'll make her teammates look great. The only real question is whether her body can stand up long term to the thugs in the WNBA. She's tough, but there are a few dirty players in the WNBA who will try their best to "teach this hot shot rookie a lesson". She is the best thing that ever happened to the WNBA and these jealous women make themselves look foolish with their hate.

Well written. Something I have not seen anyone write is the history. They talk about pay, WNBA, shoe deals, etc. but the first two years of Caitlin's college basketball career she was an unknown. She has already done wonders for the league and the players no one remembers or knows are getting noticed. Kate Martin went to support Caitlin at the draft. This act of kindness was noticed. It is a team sport not an individual sport. Caitlin is giving every other player a chance to be noticed. Personally, I see those who support the league as having a chance to get noticed for the right reasons which can open doors for them. People like talking about the business aspect of the WNBA. Caitlin turned down business deals, so money is out there for other players. Under Armour is competing against Nike, so both the new and old players have an opportunity because of Caitlin. Colin Kaepernick was no longer playing football when Nike offered him a contract. They may have won championships, so if they are as good as they think they should praise Caitlin for continuing the tradition of opening doors. Your first and last sentence says it ALL!!!

@@tootsx8675....she still is not a winner.....not only did she lose but twice..... Interesting fact.....Clark was ranked 49th in 3 point shooting in college this past year..... She scored points on the high volume of shoots not accuracy....taking 25-30 shots per game and sinking 1/3rd of them...... she won't get that many shot opportunities in the WNBA.....when pressured she gets rattled very easily and also commits turnovers... she is a weak defender also It seems everyone gets easily offended when facts are spoken....

@@albertbowen6197 She would’ve easily won if she was on a better team but chose to stay home and help Iowa. Broke numerous records, won many awards and carried her team to the finals TWICE. Her college career was impressive even without a natty. Let’s not forget she was tripled teamed every time she stepped on the court because they knew she was the best player, now that she’s with the fever that won’t be able to happen as often. Her shooting accuracy will also get better in the league because she’ll have help and we will see more of her passes turn into assists. If she was that great in college on a bad team, she’s only going to get better on the fever team as she has fantastic talent around her. It might take her a little while to adjust to a new team but she’ll be fine and will easily go down as one of the best if she continues to play the same way. 🙂‍↔️

If Caitlin Clark isn't special, why didn't these WNBA players do what she did in college? It's either racism or jealousy. Either way, it's stupid. Here's an opportunity for the WNBA to attract new fans and maybe then the WNBA players will make more money, and the old players are ruining the chance.

Caitlin Clark has already--without playing ONE WNBA game--single-handedly sold more jerseys in ONE DAY than the entire WNBA has in its ENTIRE history of existence. Further, she sold more jerseys in ONE DAY, than the entire Dallas Cowboys team sold ALL OF last season. Let those staggering facts sink in. Teams around the WNBA have started relocating games against the Fever to much larger arenas. Ticket prices have soared because of the Caitlin effect. SHE FILLED AN ENTIRE OUTDOOR FOOTBALL STADIUM--FOR A BASKETBALL GAME….IOWA VS DEPAUL….KINNICK STADIUM….55,464 FANS ATTENDED (AS PER SPORTING REFERENCE) “In 2023, the most watched male basketball athlete was Brandon Miller-winning 17 total states. By contrast, the most watched female was Caitlin Clark, winning ALL 50 STATES” (AS PER THE NEW YORK TIMES) "In January, the N.C.A.A. signed a deal with ESPN that valued the annual rights to broadcast the women’s basketball tournament at more than $60 million, more than 10 times what the network paid in the previous deal, in 2011.....When Ms. Clark said she would forgo her final year of college eligibility to enter this spring’s W.N.B.A. draft, it had an immediate effect. The Indiana Fever, who are expected to select her with the No. 1 overall pick in April, saw a more than 200 percent increase in the average listed price of their season opener, according to Vivid Seats." (AS PER THE WASHINGTON POST) "The Iowa basketball star who was recently the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft won the James E. Sullivan Award for the second straight year Tuesday night. Clark is the first two-time winner in the award’s 94-year history. It goes to the nation’s most outstanding athlete at the college or Olympic level. The award also honors leadership, citizenship, character and sportsmanship on and off the playing field." She ALSO won the Naismith College Player of the Year Award back to back. That hasn't been done since the 90s. All told, she racked up dozens of awards--too many to list here. To play GOAT level basketball in college--setting over 40 records...spanning BOTH mens and womens bball....including scoring the most points ever....while STILL maintaining an academic 3.64 GPA is nothing short of astounding....BRAVO !!! Imagine if she decides to play overseas during her offseasons. Her popularity will skyrocket even more. No stupid marijuana vape arrests. She is pure class and discipline. No disrespecting or shaming her home country. Just pure basketball wizardry and a shining ambassador of the game.....YES, CLASS MATTERS.....Fact is, she is already a global presence. People from all over the WORLD are posting about, following and supporting Caitlin Clark. I predict right now that her signature shoe will become the 2nd biggest selling of all time--behind the Jordans. You’ll see… When Aja Wilson does THAT...then you can argue for her to get a shoe. Otherwise, sit down...and stop acting like petulant children who want whatever toy they see other kids with. Let's not forget that the same people claiming Caitlin is overrated because she did not win a title in college--and that her individual stats don't matter--are the same ones who claim Lamar Jackson should be the highest paid QB in NFL history--due to his individual stats. Fact is, had Caitlin won a title in college, then the narrative would be, "Well, that's college. She has to win in the pros". So, let's recap: Caitlin's individual college records (which were harder to accomplish--as she CARRIED her team like Iverson) don't matter.....BUT Angel Reese's college title does matter. Love that warped and delusional logic. Hatred is hatred and like a virus, it will always find a host. For those who use the “she lost in the title game to both LSU and SC”…Yes, that is true. However, Caitlin and IOWA also knocked both of these defending champions OUT of the tournament and kep them from defending their titles and possibly repeating as champions. In the case of SC…IOWA ended their undefeated 42-0 winning streak. In a span of 2 seasons, SC had only ONE loss. Amazing. You know WHO they lost that ONE game to? Wait for it….Caitlin Clark and IOWA. Caitlin also beat another powerhouse in UCONN…knocking THEM out as well……Context matters, folks! And Caitlin cannot be considered one of the all-time greats without having won a title? Seriously? Say hello to Barry Sanders, Barry Bonds, Allen Iverson, Charles Barkley, Bo Jackson, Dan Marino, Dick Butkus, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, Tony Gwynn, Ernie Banks, Elgin Baylor, Pavel Bure, Rod Carew, Ty Cobb, Marcel Dionne, Ken Griffey Jr, etc, etc, etc...SOME OF THOSE, NAMELY BONDS AND SANDERS, ARE WIDELY CONSIDERED THE GOAT IN THEIR SPORT. I know Barry Sanders is my GOAT RB. Truth is, most of you are utterly ignorant not only as to sports, but life, in general. You have no business commenting--much less opining on--anything of importance. Your hatred clouds everything you look at and experience. You lead a sad existence. It's gotten so bad that some are now even claiming a Division 2 record trumps Caitlin's Division 1 scoring record. That is akin to claiming the minor league home run record trumps the one in MLB. You cannot make the “Bill Russell played in a plumber’s era” to discount him and his 11 titles in the GOAT argument to prop up Michael Jordan…then use Moore’s DIVISION 2 scoring record-a massively inferior league-to argue that she has the “real” scoring record. It is the ultimate goalpost moving and hypocrisy. Your bias is showing-big time. What makes Caitlin the GOAT? Or at least one of them? She took a team that had NO business even reaching the tournament--to the championship game--TWICE. As the team's only star. The team's ONLY great player. I say that counts more--when defining a GREAT player--than winning it with a stacked team of 4-5 star recruits. But that's just me. I make the SAME argument for Allen Iverson's Finals appearance as being much more impressive than a ton of other ones. Ask ANYONE whom they respect more as a champion: Kevin Durant, or Giannis, Joker or Dirk. Ask them which Finals journey was more impressive: Allen Iverson's Sixers or the KD Warriors, Lebron heat and Spurs Dynasty....doing more with less will always count more in the annals of history. Further, if winning a title is the lithmus test for getting a shoe deal, then where was the outrage when Ja Morant got one before Nikola Jokic ?? As for the media coverage Caitlin gets--none of these people had an issue last year when the Colorado Buffaloes got ALL of the coverage, even though they were a social media reality show train wreck and lost two-thirds of their games. The hypocrisy is both nauseating and pathetic. And remember that without whites supporting black athletes--they'd be making WNBA wages. Try reciprocating for once. Or do you think Michael Jordan and Lebron James became billionaires because of the black community exclusively? Quit thinking that the only way for you to support black athletes is to denigrate white athletes and call THEIR supporters racists. Grow up.

The WNBA has been a joke for years now….. lack of popularity….. financially unstable….low TV ratings and this all in spite of all the college legends who have entered into it. It doesn’t matter how many titles Taurasi or Stewart has or how dynamic Swoopes or Griner have been….. they have failed to change this league for the better. They are not more attractive nor are their wallets fatter….. the WNBA is what it is. Now I’m not saying Caitlin Clark will be any different in increasing the popularity or bringing in more revenue for the league……but the haters have already dubbed her a failure even before she has even touched the basketball. Clark deserves the same respect and praise that these other women got when they came into the WNBA. But since they choose to criticize her it is my hope that she makes liars out of all of them and does increase the interest in women’s basketball like she did in college.

The people that are the greatest change the game and viewership and the accolades come with it. What was her greatest gamestats in college with good college players but not great players . There is a lot of sour grapes in the WNBA players and I doubt that they wouldn't want Kaitlyn on their team to be a threat with a high IQ of the game . Look at the way Black players saw bird come into the NBA the great white hope and then he was unstoppable. More people watching more endorsements more TV revenue bigger paychecks. College rings don’t tell the full story though. She managed to take a subpar team to the finals twice on her own back whilst facing extremely talented teams who were stacked with talent. She’s easily in the top 3 best players to ever play in college even without a ring and if she did win one, she still would be top 3. At the next level she needs to win a ring and she knows this but thankfully she’ll be around better talent to help.

Clark is such a liability in big games ... i dont think ive ever seen her win one. Balls in her hands then it aint. Usually shes getting it out of the opponents net. Taurasi was right it seems. Debate me any one?

In the end, it is still how well the product can attract fans. The female players have to understand the games are not exciting. They are not very entertaining, and the don't attract female fans. If just a quarter number of women would watch the WNBA as men watch the NBA the league would at least stop bleeding money from the NBA. If half the number of women would watch the WNBA t 8:41 he pay could go up. I predict a surge of people watching, then it will drop off to the same level it been at for years. The WNBA just does not have the energy the NBA has. It the same in men's sports, preseason NFL are barely watched past the 1st half, because the excitement is not there. If the NFL could find a way to make the games count for something toward the regular season, the games would be watched by more fans. IT'S THE PRODUCT, NOT THE SEX IF THE PLAYERS that limits the pay the ladies get. I don't care if they lower the rim. The over all product not exciting enough.

There's not a single thing said in any of those clips that isn't true. Except for Stewie maybe (a lot of people conveniently forget who her UConn teammates were on those chip teams). None of them said she wasn't good. They're saying she's not going to be able to play the same way she did in College. THATS NOT HATE, THATS FACT. Steph Curry was not "Steph Curry" year one. They are doing you all a favor in curbing your enthusiasm. Otherwise, all you guys are gonna turn the channel when she doesn't drop 30 every game. Or get benched because she's getting cooked on defense.

It’s not inherently disrespectful it’s true. We don’t know yet how CC is going to fare against teams made up of equivalently athletes. But no matter how CC stacks up against the competition she ain’t going to make the wNBA profitable. She may never be on a championship or even winning wNBA team.

@@leoncarlson4537 My bad. Incomplete or incompetent sentences, but I edited or corrected them. I am not against CC. Just fed up with the over exaggerated media hype. She may be the GOAT. But that is yet to be determined. The black, heterophobic homosexual, wNBA vets are so consumed with their ethnocentric jealousy they may actively try to sabotage CC. The spousal abuse among the same sex wNBA lesbian unions is epidemic. These gals are wired a bit differently than the straight ladies. It will be amusing to see how they react to first biological male who transitions into the wNBA as a female, especially if he/she/it is Caucasian. It might get more physical than Lingerie Football League. Then the wNBA might actually attract enough paying spectators to actually become profitable. Who knows? Caitlin Clark may be that player. Adopt a wNBA veteran for $18.99 a month.
