Although I partly agree, I do think he should only go to jail WHEN/IF someone does take the call to action. I still believe in free speech and the idea of "Guilty until proven innocent". If nothing happens, nothing happened... However "Harassment" and "Calls to Violence" should be legally enforced within reason. Too bad it's not enforced evenly...

@@j.enantiodromia3940 negative. Calls to action are not supported by the first amendment. That's assault. If the call to action is answered, then they're not simply guilty of assault, they're guilty of conspiracy to commit (battery, murder, etc), even if they did nothing in the crime past the call to action. On the side of the ransom posts people were making, that's also not covered by the first amendment, and falls into solicitation of a crime. The first amendment does not protect either of these categories, it never did, and that's absolutely how it should work. To compare, if you attempt to unalive somebody using a firearm and succeed, it's murder. If you make the attempt and fail, it's attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Yes, even if there is no answer to a call to crime or a solicitation to crime, you should be punished for the call to action or solicitation. The attempt is there.

@@seymourfields3613 Regardless of the current laws, I'm simply stating what I think and would prefer. I was just sharing my perspective, not trying to state what anything IS. The reason I have this perspective, is that some bad actors like to take things out of context, especially with "Hate Speech" laws. Depending on your country, some don't even HAVE FREE SPEECH! ...So jokes, have actually gotten people thrown in jail, due to "Harassment". I personally think the clearest line, that avoids any slippery slopes and government overreach, is if nothing happens, nothing happened. Attempts and preparation to do physical harm to someone or damage their property, isn't nothing happening, so it's not really appropriate as an argument against what I'm saying. Which again, is just me sharing my perspective and application of my principles.

@@j.enantiodromia3940 yes, I understand your stance. I simply disagree with it. A call to action is an attempt to have something done, whether or not that thing is done. The "hate speech" laws all cover things outside of calls to action. They're laws against saying things that are true, or at the very least perceived to be true. Not covering calls to action under free speech is not a slippery slope to laws against "hate speech." Authoritarian leftist regimes are the slippery slope to laws against "hate speech."

This is a symptom of a FAR larger problem. At least in America, this isn't about being conservative or liberal. By and large, true conservatives and liberals agree on far more than they disagree on, and the disagreements are mostly a matter of management and the sliding scales of certain social, fiscal, and regulatory issues. Both believe in freedom, both believe in the ideals of the Constitution, they just argue over intepretation. This is about the extremists on either end of the political spectrum who should be reviled by both true conservatives and liberals as the extreme Left and extreme Right are enemies of liberty. They want one thing and one thing only- the acquisition, consolidation, and expansion of power for themselves and those who toe the lines they set. Period. They are enemies of freedom and are blatantly against the principles of the Constitution. They openly embrace tyranny, provided THEY are the tyrants. This needs to stop, these extremists on both sides need to be pushed back against, and people who believe in liberty need to stop being played by the extremists and those who pull their strings (which are often foreign nations or power-brokers like Russia/China or Soros). Otherwise, liberty dies.

I have a serious question: If an individual casts aside their own individual sanctity, by identifying with and becoming part of a collective. Is their any sanctity left in them? Are they still sacred? How does an individual, assess another person's individualization? This question has haunted me over the past decade now! I don't want to think of others as anything but individuals, but... What if that's why we are all suffering this madness? Do we have to move past dichotomies and perhaps consider something more!? After all my time thinking about this, all I can say is, the "Sanctity of the Individual" we hold so highly, is not about individualization in a physical, biological form, but the culmination of our personal experiences and psychological maturity. The physical state, might only be a chrysalis for a more sacred form of individualization to emerge from. A form that not only takes on personal responsibility, but can even choose to take on more, while not losing themselves to the collective either! That's what I'd like to think we could be. Individuals who don't see other individuals as threats, but mature brothers and sisters. These collectivists... Are children, who never truly became individuals. Who's fault is that? Can they be saved and helped? Should they have the rights (That should be reserved for mature individuals) revoked? By what metrics are we going to assess this maturity of the individual!? ...I'm so tired of not truly having the conversation we need. This is only going to get worse, if we don't start setting some better standards. We're tying our hands behind our backs and it might be immoral of us to do so... I'm just... Really not keen about some of the directions this path could lead us, but it needs to be said! Hopefully, we can solve this before we all lose our patience, composure and reason.😔

This shows his utilitarian ideology, which he follows up with his own self sacrifice in order to save the rest of the crew, which is arguably a noble act. I think the dangerous part of people's mentalities comes from believing that the ends justify the means. With this Machiavellianism framework any horrific action can then be permitted because of the end goal.

@@BelMarduksBizarreBazaar However, if Spock didn't sacrifice himself to save the ship arguably everyone would have died or at least a large majority of the crew. So by prioritizing the needs of everyone over himself the outcome was more beneficial overall. I think if he was sacrificing someone else rather than himself then it would have been of dubious self serving motives.

You have no obligation to live by their fictional beliefs, and no obligation to be their victim if you dont. no exception.

12:50 Without the group co-operating to maintain the civilization, the individual is alone in the wilderness. This is not an argument for collectivism over individualism, but to say that individualism can only find meaningful expression within a collective that produces and maintains a society which allows the individual to do so in a measure of safety and comfort which the individual is generally unable to produce for himself by only his own labors. The argument is much more nuanced than simply which should be the primary concern. Mere survival is possible with only individualism, but survival with style requires a healthy measure of collectivism.
