UBOAT is a new Submarine Simulator that just dived into early access. It is a survival sandbox with crew management mechanics while its primary theme is life of German sailors. The boat is their home, but it can become their grave at any time.
In UBOAT you control the crew in order to control the boat. You look after their physical and mental health, because if the sailors are hungry, tired and their spirit is low, there’s no chance of winning even a skirmish.

I sold newspapers on the corner next to the public swimming pool where I got my hygiene & hung out at in internet cafe at the Centre. Eventually a paper customer hired me to weld. I lived there 13 years.

Thank you for putting out a lot of great content. I've been eyeing this game for a while and might end up just buying into the early release. I'm also keeping an eye on the development of Destroyer: U-Boat Hunter and when they are ready I hope they send you a copy so I can see actual game play before making a decision.

One torpedo per merchant ship ! Use deck gun at close range (inside 150 meters) to hit target just below the waterline. Damage or sink multiple ships, do not focus on just one. Heavy damage can still sink the ship over the coming hours. The more ships that are damaged, the fewer they will have to send out to get more supplies.

As a resident of Southampton it is my duty to request the annihilation of Portsmouth. On a side note when my grandfathers boat was sunk he was taken as a PW and shipped into Portsmouth. He said “grey faces looked up from a grey floor beneath a grey sky. Portsmouth was dismal” it hasn’t changed a bit. Get rid of it

Great show, as usual! The NA-1 has a pretty weak hull, in fact you can open a hole on the hull with a single AP shot with the 88, basically 1 shot 1 kill.

Did you notice that they didn't count the tonnage for Oligarch, War Afridi, or the V class? So add at least 10,200 tons for the ol class and 5,600 tons about for the war class, and 1,200 for the V class (all approximations, likely low end). So your patrol sank 54,149 tons at least. The Kriegsmarine short changed you. Plus whatever that Sunderland weighs cause technically that sank too.

@@Wolfpack345 in fact ...they are straight Floating to the target until they can ear rotor and engine sound ..at this point you will bee able to observe the torpedos start tracking his target .... Con's they can start tracking the wrong target due to is acoustic guiding system

Is it possible to guess the speed of an enemy ship only using periscope, like it is possible in SH4? It is more fun when map is not updated and you have calculate everything without it (of course position of own ship needs to be placed on map). Max realism! :)

That stern shot probably hit so far aft because you were still set for 44kt torp speed, rather than 30kt for the T2. Good thing you launched so close!

It is certainly different.. it is a fun game but I would not go in expecting a simulation like Silent Hunter.

Why is it necessary to send a message to Bdu after each engagement? The good guy's (Allies) were eventually able to triangulate a U-boats position from it's senseless radio messages. There's a reason U-boat ace Otto Krechmer was called "Silent Otto."

Why don't you use the in game method of calculating speed via the periscope? You only need the ship to go one ship length and you have a speed, it seems faster than waiting for 3 minutes 15 seconds?

I'm trying to understand (but right now it's late so maybe I'm the problem), why the distance in meters on the map between two points of 3m15s gives you a speed value...

speed = distance / time Our time (195s) is a magic number: at 5 kts a ship will travel approximately 500 meters in 3m15s. It makes the speed calculation stupid easy: speed (kts) = distance traveled (meters) / 100

@@Wolfpack345 huh. never seen them before! have you checked out the Uboat expanded mod? It's got a lot more convoys as well as more ports. It's pretty fun but taxes the hardware. Loving this game so far, can't wait for the more "realistic" looking map as well as ships being armed more often! This game is goign to give Sh3 a run for its money here next update, I think!

The farthest I have gone out to sea is about 20 miles for deep sea fishing. I would love to go sailing some time.

I couldn't figure out how to exit the flak gun in first person. Then I went back to management mode and he it by himself. Then I went back to him. Couldn't get out of the binoculars. This is why I avoided pc gaming all these years. It takes days to figure out simple bs like this. Then. In binoculars I couldn't get out of the attack mode. With the tubes on the screen warming as if I were gonna launch torpedoes. I couldnt get out of it so I quit the entire patrol

I've watched a few of these videos, and the game looks amazing. The only issues I see with this game is 1) U-boats carried 12 torpedo's, not 5-6.... 2) why are you buying supplies at port? I mean we all remember when in WW2 troops had to buy there own food and ammo to bring on patrol; no? Oh because it never happened, they were supplied by the nation they fought for, for free!!! And don't get me started at the fact you have to pay for your own crew, repairs, and upgrades.... again something that NEVER happened. You can't call it a simulator, then add in BS video game mechanics to make it some how harder.

You can load 12 torpedoes in the boat. I had already fired some off. This patrol had been going on for a while...

Allthough this game is great in its own way I would recommend silent Hunter all day. But in all honesty this is geared towards the strategical side while silent Hunter aims for the physical side. So in conclusion I guess they both have their equal place
